Activities List
1)
Do you know anyone in your family or a friend who is living with one of the
diseases mentioned above or with someone who has a disease? Interview that
person about his life and report in writing what it is really like to live with
the disease.
2) Collect news articles (at least 12) about a disease and write a summary of
the latest studies and findings about the disease.
3) Compile your own family medical history. Draw a family tree going back at
least two generations and note any diseases that your family knows about.
4) Keep a log for at least two weeks recording your diet (meals and snacks) and
exercise for each day. Identify any changes you would
like to make based on what you've learned about the health benefits of diet and
exercise.
5) Create a safe sex pamphlet with information about STDs and guidelines about
their prevention for teenagers.
6) Create a poster with a slogan and a visual about neighborhood resources
available for treatment of substance abuse or addiction.
