| Grandpa Hastings built the house. Later they added the room in the back. Loyd remembers adding rope, grass, anything that would help hold the mud together. They mixed the mud by stomping it. Note the brush arbor behind the adobe building. On the north side of their land they had a windmill with a dirt tank. Their well cost $80 to dig. The casing was cheap made, it was thin walled like wood stove pipe. The well was 60 feet deep. |
