| Well the band was started by Edgar C. current lead guitar for Horus. We are a band from East Los Angeles but some of us originally from Mexico. We are a POWER METAL band. We have a lot of influences that over the years, have change our minds and totally revolutionized the way we look at todays only new metal. Some of the influences we all have would include, Helloween, Hammerfall, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Sonata Arctica, Dark Moor, Stratovarius, Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Rata Blanca, Luzbel, Transmetal, Mago De Oz, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Scorpions, Deep Purple, Kiss, Dio, but especially a band that would remind us of a new era would be "RAINBOW." Me (Edgar) started playing guitar around the year 1999, later on in 2000, I started taking guitar classes at school, It took me a year on classical guitar, and flamenco, One year on Neo-Classical metal on my own, and another one on powermetal and classical music composition. Back on the year 2000 I met Joe (Jose Palomares) at Garfield High School, we met and started a band called "CARNAGE" we were playing heavy metal only as to say Iron Maiden, Judas Priest ect.. .He played the drums, Paul used to play Rythm guitar and I was introduced to play lead and vocals. Unfortunately we failed and the band's plans went down after a year. We learned from that and as a result we went back to practicing and went more into the the world of powermetal and neo-classical music. Then, on the begining of 2003, I met Jose Sanchez which would be part of my new band later on, I heard he played the bass and wanted to see his style, I knew he played or was ont he School's ensemble as a bassits so I met him through my brother. We started going to gigs, concerts, and tocadas to see how bands perform and how they manage their music to better understand a band. Knowing that I had Joe as a drummer I called Jose Sanchez to or for a jam at his house. That jam changed us all, because we played songs in a way which we all liked and we wanted more. The band line-up happened to be as follows Joe Palomares (drummer), Jose Sanchez (bassist), and Edgar (Guitars), there Jose introduced Jesse Lopez his cousin to me and I found out he played the guitar and later on he became the 2nd guitar of the band. Then it was up to us to find a vocalist, George Ortega our friend for years became the one to singe for the band. We practices as a band and we called it "REINO MALDITO" we played parties and a clouple of gigs. Then, we decided to get more equipment and we stopped playing for a while, Our new project it's called "HORUS" the god of light. and the current band line-up it's Edgar C. (lead Guitar), Jose S. (bass), Jesse L. (Rythm guitar), George O. (Vocals), and Joe P. (temporary drums).......You can check us out at the following show............................. |
