Chapter Thirty-five

“Where are they!?” A.J. was pacing the hotel room.

“Calm down. You should do something to keep your mind off of it,” Erica was trying to keep him calm.

“Like what?”

“I don’t know… grab a security guard and go sign some autographs.”

“Good idea. Do you want to come along?”

“No. I’m going to go wake Nick up for lunch.”

“Okay, thank you.”

“Not a problem.”

“A.J.!” shrill screams came from the lobby as he and the security guard stepped off of the elevator.

“Here we go…” he walked towards them and pulled out a pen.

“Oh my gosh! Can I have your autograph?” As he signed he watched the doors for Elise but she didn’t come.

“Hey it’s time for you to leave. You have an interview soon.”

“Oh,” he said goodbye and took a last glance at the door before going back up to his room to change.

He really wasn’t very attentive during the interview until they asked him about Elise. “She is my entire life. I love touring and the fans but I miss her like crazy. She’s the most beautiful, sexy, talented woman in the world. I missed her before when we weren’t together but it’s so much different now… I miss her more than I ever imagined missing anyone.”

“Have you two decided on a name for the baby?”

“Well… we haven’t really had the time to discuss it thoroughly… but she mentioned she wanted the middle name to be Rayne if it was a girl. I’ve been thinking about it but I wouldn’t discuss it with you before her. No offense. I just would want to wait until I see her.”

“It’s okay… um, would that be her?”

A.J. stood up and turned around to find Elise coming in the door to the studio. “Excuse me for a minute.” He ran over to her and wrapped his arms around her. “Hi, ‘Lise,” he whispered and kissed her forehead, cheeks, nose and finally lips.

“I missed you so much.”

“Um… I’m kind-of in the middle of an interview but I’m sure they wouldn’t mind you joining us.”

A.J. took her hand and led her over to where he had been sitting. As they sat down Elise rested her head on his shoulder and tears slowly fell down her cheeks.

“Can you tell us your idea for the baby’s name now?”

“McKenzie Rayne McLean.”

“It’s perfect Alex,” Elise whispered.

“Well, that’s all the time we have for now. Tune in later for our red carpet coverage,” the announcer quickly ended the interview and walked away.

“Come on baby,” A.J. stood up, turned around and leaned down to help her up. “Why are you crying?”

“I just missed you so much,” she wrapped her arms around him and buried her face in his chest.

“I know baby, I know,” he lifted her head up and kissed her. “Do you want to go cuddle?”

“That sounds good to me,” she stood up.

Wiping the tears from her face with his thumbs he slowly kissed her. “I love you,” he set his hands on her stomach, “I love you too.”

As they stepped into the hotel, hand-in-hand, with security right behind them A.J. was whispering to her, “A magazine will be interviewing us… I mean the guys and I but I’m sure they won’t mind you sitting in.”

“HEY LETHI!” Leigh came across the room.

“Who’s that?”

“She’s one o my old friends I met up with. Her name is Leigh.”

“Great… like I’m not confused enough as it is.” A.J. smiled.

“Hi, my name’s Leigh.”

“Hello, my name is A.J.,” he began to talk like Johnny.

“Nice accent you’ve got going.”

“Yeah you too.”

“At least hers is natural. C’mon you two,” Elise pulled them to the elevator.

“Hey Shorty!” Aaron called right before the elevator door shut, “Wait up!”

“Leigh, you wouldn’t mind chilling with Aaron fro awhile would you?” Elise smiled and wrapped her arm around A.J.’s waist.

“Not a problem at all. You two have fun ok,” she stepped off the elevator followed by Aaron.

“We will. Um, how about dinner at 7?” A.J. suggested.

“Sounds great. Bye ya’ll.”
