Azreteliy Hiyse Zhamirze Lhosten Zhemix'we (Жэмыхъуэ Хьисэ и къуэ Азрэтэлий):  Azreteliy was born in the town of Zeyiqwe (Зеикъуэ) on the Bakhsan River in Kabarda in 1936. He was the Head of the Trade Union in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic before his retirement in the late 1990s. Azreteliy is well known across the Russian Federation as a chess strategist. He published a number of books on chess strategies. Imad Mahmoud Kuchuk (Kwshikw) Yismeil Yislham Mertaze Muhemed (Iымад Мэхьмуд [Мыхьмуд] Кушыку Исмел Ислъам Мэртазэ Мухьэмэд): Born in 1960 in Amman, Jordan, Imad obtained his BSc in electrical engineering from Southampton University in England, and his MSc and PhD from Imperial College in London. Imad is currently a reader at Imperial College. He has published more than two dozen papers in international journals and conference proceedings. He is considered one of the world leaders in his field: control engineering. [Imad Jaimoukha]

Khalid Fouad Kuchuk (Kwshikw) Yismeil Yislham Mertaze Muhemed (Хъалыд Фуэд Кушыку Исмел Ислъам Мэртазэ Мухьэмэд): Born in 1945 in Jerash, Jordan, Khalid joined the army in 1968 and retired with the rank of three-star general in 2005. He studied mechanical engineering in the UK and attended many technical and military courses in the USA. He founded and was director general of the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) for many years until his retirement. He held the position of Army Assistant Chief of Staff for Defense Resources. He is currently the President of the Board of Directors of Jordan International Air Cargo (JIAC). Khalid is married to Dr. Narmeen Harbi X'wnegw, a heart surgeon of considerable repute in the Middle East, and has a son and a daughter (Fouad and Zein, respectively). [Khalid Jamoukha]

Kwshbiy Yimam Zhemix'we (Кушби Имамович Жемухов): One of the distinguished workers in the Tyrnyauz Enterprises in the town of Tyrnyauz in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. He worked there in the years 1948-1984. Tyrnyauz is an important mining town in the southwest of the Republic. He was honoured for his work by being added in a book commemorating the outstanding workers in the Tyrnyauz Enterprises (the book is downloadable in .pdf format).

M. Zhemix'we (Zhemukhov): Master silver-smith and ornamenter of weapons in Lower (Yischx'ere) Het'ox'wschiqwey (aka 'Qizbrun I'), a village on the right bank of the Bakhsan River in Greater Kabarda, Circassia, in the second half of the 19th century. Mahmoud Kuchuk (Kwshikw) Yismeil Yislham Mertaze Muhemed (Мэхьмуд [Мыхьмуд] Кушыку Исмел Ислъам Мэртазэ Мухьэмэд): Born in 1927 in Jerash, Jordan, Mahmoud obtained his BA degree in law from Cairo University in 1955. He went on to become one of the more important solicitors in Amman in the 1970s and 1980s. He was amongst the first Jordanian Circassians to visit Circassia towards the end of the 1960s. He made several more trips and reconnected the Jaimoukhas in Jordan and Circassia. He served several years on the Board of Directors of the Circassian Benevolent Association in Amman. Up until his retirement in the early 1990s he acted as a linchpin holding the Jaimoukha clan together. He died in 2008. He was married to Zahra Yusef Shikwe and had three sons (Imad, Amjad, and Feridon) and one daughter (Dissa). [Mahmoud Jaimoukha]

Mazhiyd T'iyt'e Bechmirze Mertaze Muhemed (Жэмыхъуэ ТIитIэ и къуэ Мажид): Born in Lower Het'ox'schiqwey in the late 1800s, Mazhiyd moved with his father and four brothers from their native village to establish the village of Psinedaxe. Mazhiyd was a very skilful silver- and gold-smith and a master adorner. Some of his works were displayed in the Kabardino-Balkarian Museum.

Raye Zhemix'we (Жэмыхъуэ Рае; Рае Жемухова): Active journalist and literary figure. She writes in a number of newspapers in Kabarda, including Circassian Word and Elbrus News.

Ruslan Boris: Born in 1992 in Kabardino-Balkaria, Ruslan became junior world champion in full-contact combat in April 2008 in the 75 kg category.

 

Srazhudin Nesebiy Mechre'iyl Zhemix'we (Сражудин Нэсэбий МэчрэIил Жэмыхъуэ): Born in the Kabardian village Qex'wn (Къэхъун). Historian. His thesis was on the Kabardian-Russian War 1810-1812.

Sufyan Nesebiy Mechre'iyl Zhemix'we (Суфьян Нэсэбий МэчрэIил Жэмыхъуэ; Суфьян Хемухов): Born in the Kabardian village Qex'wn (Къэхъун) in 1970. Published historian, scholar and journalist. He was a Fulbright Scholar in 2005-2006 at the Kennan Institute in Washington, DC. Sufyan is editor-in-chief of the newspaper Kabardino-Balkarskaya Pravda [Kabardino-Balkarian Truth] (he was appointed in 2006). He is also at the Department of Social and Humanities Education at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University. [Name used in West: Sufian N. Zhemukhov]

Sulht'an (son of) Muhemed (son of Bechir son of Wesmen) (Жэмыхъуэ Мухьэмэд и къуэ СулътIан): Sulht'an (1927-1984) was born in the town of Zeyiqwe (Зеикъуэ) in Kabarda. Sulht'an was famous for his great wit and humour and practical jokes. A book detailing his witty stories and jokes was published in 2004. Sult'an was married to Zulifet Zhemaldin 'Epsche. They had one son (Boris, married with two sons and one daughter) and two daughters (Tamara and Rita, both married). {Book details: Aslhemirze Jedghef, Жэмыхъуэ СулътIан и гушыIэхэр. Wimar: University teacher. In the 1970s, at the height of Russification in the North Caucasus, which was causing the native languages to languish in neglect, he advocated paying greater attention to the teaching of Circassian at all levels.
