First I want to say that I wrote the bio.I included many quotes by Hetfield,but it still may have some mistakes,so please let me know if you find any.Enjoy it!
He was born on August 3, 1963 in Los Angeles, California. James' dad was a truck driver and his mom was a light opera singer. "It was my mom's second marriage- I have two older half -brothers". He raised in a strict Christian Science family. This is a strange religion. "The main rule is, God will fix everything." Hetfield says. "Your body is just a shell, you don't need doctors." "any medicine is no necessary and anything you have is God-given and basically comes down to huge faith and a lot of belief in yourself, that's something you don't really quite get when you're a kid". "It was alienating and hard to understand". "not fully understanding the religion. I just knew that there were rules around it, which were pretty frustrating. That's kind of religion that you can really get into after you've lived a little bit." "I couldn't get physical to play football. It was weird having to leave health class during school, and all kids saying, 'Why do you have to leave? Are you some kind of freak?' As a kid you want to be part of the team.They're always whispering about you and thinking you are weird. That was very upsetting. My dad taught Sunday school, and there was a girl that had her arm broken. She stood up and said, 'I broke my arm but now look, it's all better'. But it was just like, mangled. Now that I think about it, it was pretty disturbing." "So as a kid it didn't make any sense to me, and I battled it quite a bit through my teens and twenties". Later all this crap influence into James nightmare lyrics. His family's Christian Science religious beliefs are often mentioned as the root of James' "tortured soul" lyrics.
