In Flames 16/11/99- After a three hour trip through a snow storm. I finally arrived in Montreal to find out that the In Flames+Moonspell concert was sold out. I never thought it could happen. I decided that I hadn't made the trip for nothing so I decided to look around for a scalper. None were to be found. Then I started to ask around if anybody had a spare ticket to sell. No luck there either. Then I really got pissed off, I knew the only way left was to offer good money for someone's ticket which was sold 12.00$ at the box office. I decided to offer 50.00$. It took me half an hour to find one person who couldn't care less about the show and gladly took my fifty bucks (it was the first time playing in Montreal for both bands, I couldn't miss that whatever the cost).  When I finally got in the venue the local opening act had already started, but I couldn't care less ; I was in! Moonspell did a pretty good performance despite a little problem with the mic. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't play my favorite Moonspell song "Hand Made God". After a long wait the intro to Star Wars started in the PA's as people gathered quickly to the stage. Antisipation building with every second the crowd was going to burst! Then a kick in the ass was felt as "Embody the Invisible" started, making the crowd go wild! Anders was obviously surprised by the energy of the crowd and our loudness and told us that security asked him to tell us not to push so much . Anders said"The stage is getting shorter with every second, I've never seen a crowd move a stage before!" he also told us that we were louder than the Toronto crowd the night before. Later he told us that they wouldn't wait another five years to come back. He promised they'd be back next year to kick our asses with a new album. Highlights of the show were: Embody the Invisible, Scorn, Insipid 2000, Colony, Episode 666, and Behind Space '99. The show was unbelievably awesome! And well worth the fifty bucks. The sound was loud and good, well harmonized guitars flowed ferociously through the speakers, the bass could have been louder though, and Anders' voice was excelent. They played tight as hell through every song. At the end of the show they decided not to go off stage to wait for the encore, Anders said" This is usually where the show ends then we go off and come back after a few minutes. Since there is no place as you can see, why go off and wait by the stage? We'll skip that and play two last songs." The last song finished leaving the crowd hungry for more. Anders thanked us many times for our support and wildness and told us he was about to cry as he was so moved by our appreciation of the band. They shook hands with fans by the stage and left. Even with them gone the crowd stayed there shouting and chanting "IN FLAMES, IN FLAMES" Daniel came out to make a final salute, then the crowd slowly dissipated. All that screaming left me thirsty so I headed to the bar. On my way I ran into (to my amazement) Bjorn Gelotte. I quickly asked him for an autograph and congradulated him for an impressive performance. He thanked me and I left the venue with a fucking big smile on my face. What a trip!!!
