Friday Night
On Friday, January 21, fans arrived off and on all day. Friday was a beautiful day, sunshiny and relatively warm considering the time of year and the location! But the weatherman was predicting a blizzard starting on Friday evening, continuing through the night and into Saturday. Bad news for those who were traveling on Friday night and during the day on Saturday.
By evening, everyone who planned to arrive on Friday was safely in the hotel and the official festivities began with Happy Hour in the hotel atrium. Complimentary cocktails and hors'doevres were a big hit with everyone. Kevin Plebanski played Diamond tunes on the grand piano, and the sound of Diamond filled the Atrium and drifted through the hotel.

After cocktails, the hotel shuttle buses were waiting to take our group to Gino's East in Chicago for pizza or whatever. The predicted snow had finally started, but nobody had to worry about driving so a sizeable group piled into several buses and went to eat.
The weather outside was frightful, but do these people look concerned? |

While all this was happening,
another brave group ventured out by cab to the city to see Superdiamond.
Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures to post. After everyone ate, the hotel shuttle buses returned to bring everyone back to the hotel just in time for Neil Diamond GAMES! |

Concentration |
Games included Neil of Fortune, Diamond
Jeopardy, Concentration, and Neilo. Everyone got a game card for Neilo. Richard drew the names of album covers, Eydie projected the album cover on the screen, and game players put markers on their cards. What a hoot! |

After games, some people went to bed. Most people headed for a room party. Eydie had a big one in her room. Kevin Plebanski played guitar and sang. Kathy from Cleveland harmonized beautifully. Mitch Augstover added his vocals.
