           John, Kaye, Jaclyn and Patrick

April 2005 bought our very first home on 3 acres of East Texas Woods. It has been an interesting chain of events that lead us here. John retired after 21 yrs in the USCG. We moved to be near our families but wanted out in the country. It is beautiful here and we are happy. Jaclyn is in 9th grade that the High school with me now. Patrick is in the 6th grade. They certainly keep us busy with their activities and friends. We hope you read our blog to catch up on our lives.   May the Lord bless you and keep you .

In Loving Memory of  John E ( Eddie) Klingensmith Sr. BMC (Ret.) who crossed the bar on December 25, 2005.

He proudly served in the USCG from 1936 - 1958. His duty stations included CGC Ossipee, CGC Airswift, CGC Blackthorn, LST 19, Tybee Beach Light house, as well as assignments in Haiti, Cuba and Panama Canal zone and both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters during WWII. He was an active member of the Coast Guard combat Veterans Association and the VFW. He is survived by his wife, Helen of over 65 years, his sons Johnny and James, daughter Bonnie, 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Memorial services were held at 2pm in the Kent- Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Panama City, FL on December 29, 2005.

Helen Klingensmith joined her husband in heaven on November 16, 2007. We will miss her greatly. She was half Suite St. Marie Chippawa Indian. She was best known in her devotion to her church and family, her wonderful lasagna, very clean house and great nature. She was also my Matron of Honor.
May They Rest In Peace Until His Coming in Glory.

DUTCHESS
We cry at our  loss of our beloved pet Dutchess- a 16 yr old black lab. For the past 4 years she has had fatty mass tumors and with her face swelling up we took her to the local vet where we had to have her put down. July 10, 2006. We buried her in the back woods behind our house. We will miss her so much. She has been a big part of our family. I discovered a website: www.petloss.com that has a beautiful poem called Rainbow Bridge and has a Monday night memorial candle ceremony in their chat room.
