About Kin- Tora:

Kin- Tora is somewhat unique compared to other martial arts schools in that it offers several different styles of martial arts rather than iust one, and in addition, has aerobics classes and a weight room. There is also a lending library of videotapes and books. It is run more in the style of a club, rather than a solely for profit business.
The typical martial arts studio in the Western New York area charges $90 or more per month to learn one style of martial art. Kin-Tora is priced at $55 per month and offers four different styles. A student can participate in 1, 2, 3, or all 4 styles if they choose, plus aerobics and weights, all for one price.

The owners, brothers Tony and Marty Grisanti, began studying Judo in 1963. Soon Judo became a family affair, a core activity for the large and close knit Grisanti clan of parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, etc. Everyone in the family participated, with many earning their black belts, and consistantly winning tournaments. Tony and Marty became black belts 9 years later and began to teach. Then they created Kin-Tora in 1974 out of their love for Judo and their desire to share it, as well as to have their own club where Judo could be taught and practiced. A club with a family atmosphere. Soon, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Tae Kwon Do were included, and the aerobics classes were added. Most students have the time and energy for only one martial arts style. However, there are several enthusiasts who participate in 2 or 3 styles. Also, there are parents who bring children to one class while they themselves do another class or do the aerobics program.
