Marty and Tony Grisanti
(5th black) -Kodokan Judo
Tony and Marty Grisanti began their training in 1963 when their father Sal, having taken a few classes with a friend, encouraged his sons to take up the sport for physical conditioning, and self defense. Judo turned into a lifelong love and in 1972, they both received their Shodans (1st black). Throughout the years, as their expertise grew, they were promoted up through to Godan (5th degree black belt), a very high level of expertise.
In 1974, they opened their own club, Kin-Tora. Almost every member of the extended and close knit Grisanti family has participated in Judo throughout the years, with most eventually earning black belts. Chief among them are Nicky and Marty Rastelli, who have studied Judo since the age of 4. They are both veterans and frequent winners of many tournaments and they regularly teach the class.
