When she caught him pulling yet another all-nighter, she chewed him out, dragged him to the diner on the corner, and told him about every crummy boyfriend she'd ever had.

He kept his eyes on the table, finger tracing the placemat, insisting that Lex wasn't to blame.

"It's my fault," he kept saying.

She didn't buy it.

"No, really. I didn't mean... I just...."

What, stopped loving Lex Luthor?

"No. Started loving somebody else."

Then he looked at her through those ridiculous glasses and their eyes met and her breath caught and she knew exactly how Lex felt.
