The game summaries for the
LRSA 90 Gunners
are as follows:

GUNNERS IMPROVE BUT COME UP SHORT

The LRSA 90 Gunners showed improvement in their desire to play on Saturday, October 19, in Cary against a fine CASL Elite team. The Gunners came up short on offense but played a good defensive match. The Elite only scored two goals in each half to win 4-0. Jordan L. was named player of the game.

GUNNERS OUT MANNED

On Saturday, October 12, the Gunners were soundly beaten by Greensboro Gold 1-9. The match was never in doubt as the Gold scored in the first minute of the game. The score at the half was 0-6. The Gunners were missing Dustin, Joey, and Chad. Jake is still out of the keeper position because of a broken thumb. Since two of the other three players missing we were the back up keepers, we were left with no back up. Jakariy and Trevor filled in and both did a good job.

WE ARE A ONE HALF TEAM

On October 6 the Gunners challenged the national recognized FVAA Flash Red. We had them slightly shocked at our level of intensity the first half of the game and for the first part of the second. The score at half time was only 0-2. We then came out and scored a quick goal after the half bringing the score 1-2. From across the field, the parents could tell that the coach for the Flash was not happy with the play of his players. The Flash then step it up a bit and the Gunners quickly ran out of steam. The final score was 1-9. Dustin scored the lone goal for the Gunners on a short feed by Trevor. Dustin was named Player of the Game.

GUNNERS GET ROBBED!

The LRSA 90 Gunners played CASL Premier a (a team that had previously beaten the Gunners) on October 5 to a 4-4 tie. The team played well and should have won the game except for two very questionable calls by the referees. Scoring the first goal was Chase with an assist by Jake. Then Jake, wearing his brand new shoes, scored next. Cameron scored his first goal of the season on a feed by Trevor. Trevor then finished the Gunners' scoring on an assist by Jake. The Gunners played well and felt that they should have been the victors. For his efforts Trevor was named Player of the Game.

FIRST WIN FOR LRSA 90 GUNNERS!!

The Gunners finally played well the the entire game against the CASL United to finish with a 3-2 victory. Chase got things started with the first goal on an assist by Jake. Then David added one with a beautiful header on an assist by Jakariy. Our final score came on a penalty kick by Trevor. With Jake out with a broken thumb, Chad took over the duties of keeper. He did a fantastic job and recorded many saves.

DISAPPOINTING LET DOWN

The Gunners played well the first half against the Cape Fear Breakers but a few key injuries and illness caused a mental breakdown in the second half. The score was 0-1 at half time with the Gunners playing well. An injury to the goalkeeper and some key moves on defense to try and get the offense going caused a complete team breakdown. For his hustle the entire game Michael was awarded Player of the Game.

GREENSBORO HANDS GUNNERS A LOSS

The LRSA 90 Gunners got the weekend off to a disappointing start in their game against the Greensboro Green. David scored the lone goal for the Gunners. The Gunners played aggressively the first half but did not keep up the aggressiveness for the second half.

SECOND GAME BLUES

The Gunners played well but a few lapses on defense allowed CASL Premier to score two of their three goals. David scored both goals for the Gunners who lead at half time 2-1. This game was a better offensive game as the Gunners positioned themselves for more shots on goal than the previous game. The coaches were pleased that the LRSA 90 Gunners played a more possession oriented game. David was awarded Player of the Game.

FIRST GAME BLUES

The LRSA 90 Gunners got off to a disappointing start in their first game against the FVAA Flash White. The team fought hard and did not give up until it was over. Getting the only score for the Gunners was David with an assist by Michael. Jake played well in the the goal making several beautiful saves.
