Howard Muse's
Bad Cafe

She gets her way just by smilin' She don't know what to do if she don't. And she won't this time. He holds his court under the black light. They don't know who to be when he's not there. No lines on the table to keep their heads square. Well, it's a bad cafe To keep your motor hummin' A bad cafe You ought to run and hide. It's a bad cafe To find you're stumblin' into It's a bad cafe In the dead night. He's on his throne just like a giant But he don't know who to see for his next bankroll Big fat empty pockets, hollowed out soul. She stumbles in, his lucky client But, she's just nickels and dimes to him. Maybe more if lint is all that lines her pockets. It's a bad cafe To keep your motor hummin' A bad cafe You wanna run and hide It's a bad cafe To find you're stumblin' into It's a bad cafe To warm your hands at night. She's wantin' more, no one to lean on To keep her powder dry. Out of luck! And, it feels just like bein' clobbered by a Mack Truck! He's high and dry, and he knows it. Nowhere left to turn 'cept down on bended knee. And his cup runneth over with lack of sympathy. It's a bad cafe To keep your motor hummin' A bad cafe You gotta run and hide It's a bad cafe To find you're stumblin' into It's a bad cafe To get your head right.
