Massachusetts JCL

On Saturday, November 16th, the annual Massachusetts Junior Classical League's Catapult Contest was held at Mount Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown Massachusetts. Latin students from all over the state gathered with catapults, some the size of a paperback novel, others that towered well over twelve feet high. There were three levels of competition: the marshmallow tossers, the 1 lb. arrow launchers, and those that show the 8 lb. shot-put. In addition, a contest was held for the best named catapult.

Besides, from the catapult contest, some students came for certamen, art contests, creative contests, or just to have fun. There were even some workshops, including one held by the MassJCL Officers called "A Jumpstart into JCL". Afterwards, the was a presentation performed by Sappho. During this presentation she sang different songs that were very unique.

Marshmallow Division:

2nd place: Berkshire Country Day
3rd place: Boston Latin Academy

8 lb Sphere Division
1st place: Mount Greylock
2nd place: Westford Academy
3rd place: Berkshire Country Day

1 lb Arrow Division
1st place: Mount Greylock
2nd place: Coginchaug High
3rd place: Tewksbury
