Comments: First all my Dad use to catch a train to Tybee before the road was built. He said back in those days you couldn't throw a baseball from the beach wall to the water because there was so much beach. I myself remember when there was a lot of beach area in he 1940s. Time and tide waits for no man. Spent many hours there. The amusement park when I use to go back in the late 1950s also had bumper cars. Thanks for the site... Do you remember the old Typee Hotel? Comments: I have been coming to tybee sense I was a littlte boy around 3 or 4 at least twice a year sometimes more. I am now 34 year old every year we would go the the park and ride the rides and always get a T-shirt. Then I had kids and I started taking them and etting them ride and getting them a T-shirt. Our family will sadly miss the Park. I just wonder If they keep closing everything down to build Hotels What they do they think the people will do while they are there you can only take so much SUN. Comments: Thanks for the pictures, I sat in the park and cried Saturday night. The last few years when I have thought of the park I have had that feeling you get when your dog is turning grey and moving slow and you know one day in the future, in the forseeable, ea ily imaginable,almost tangible, future, you'll have to put down an old friend. Of course it was Gene who had to make the tough decision this time.
