Outdoor Tournament Yardages and Targets

The MAA has four outdoor tournaments:
The Outdoor MAA, Field and Hunter, Target 900 and 3D.
All tournaments are two day tournaments with the exception of the 3D,
which may be shot on either Saturday or Sunday.
 
The following information and charts provides the target types,
yardages for both adults and youth divisions,
and stake identifiers for the different age groups.

Tournament Description Yardages Kids distances
Outdoor MAA 20 ends of 3 arrows for a daily score of 300. Targets are set up in V-formation ranging from 20 yrds. to 65 yrds. Groups of archers are started every 6 minutes beginning at 8 a.m. 20 - 65 yrds. Cubs: 20-30 yards; repeat the 20 yrd targets to make up for those beyond 30 yrds.

Youth: 20-50 yrds; repeat 20 yrd targets to make up for those beyond 50 yrds.

Young Adult: 20-65 yrds.

Field and Hunter Saturday targets range from 20 ft. to 80 yrds. at the 20 cm, 35 cm, 50 cm & 65 cm white with black bullseye target faces. All groups start at pre-assigned targets beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday targets are 11 yrds to 70 yrds at the black with white bullseye target. Daily total for this tournament is 560. 20 ft. - 80 yrds.

Cubs: all targets out to 30  yrds, with repeat of 20 yrds targets to make up those distances beyond 30 yrds. Black stakes marked 30 yrds will indicate where to shoot for all targets beyond 30 yrds.

Youth: all targets up to 50 yrds, and shooting from blue stakes marked as 50 yrds to make up those beyond 50 yrds.

Young Adult: Shoot from all adult stakes and yardages.

 

Target 900 15 ends of 6 arrows for a daily total of 900. Target is the 122 cm multi-colored FITA face shot at 40, 50 & 60 meters. All archers shoot one line and start at the same time. 40, 50 & 60 meters Cubs: 10, 20, 30 meters.

Youth: 30, 40, 50 meters

Young Adult: 40, 50, 60 meters.

3D 28 targets scored as 10,8,5 for a total of 280. Call host club for details. Call host club for specifics on age requirements.
      Note: The MAA does not recognize and bowhunter styles of shooting in any of the youth divisions.
