All In The Band

Part 15

Toshiya froze in the doorway. //He... he...// He slowly closed the
door to the apartment just as softly as he'd opened it just a few
seconds before. Dropping the bags of food, he slid down against the
wall and hugged his knees, folding his arms over them and burying his
face. He sobbed as quietly as he could until he heard footsteps stop
in front of him.

"A... anou... are you okay?" An unfamiliar voice asked and Toshiya
looked up curiously. "Oh... you don't look it." The equally
unfamiliar face frowned and knelt down beside Toshiya. "What's
wrong? I know you don't know me, but... it helps to talk... if you
want..."

Toshiya bit his lip and whimpered. "I... It's just... love
problems..."

The other cast his face down. "Sou desu... I seem to be running into
people with love problems alot lately..."

"Hounto?" Toshiya asked.

The other nodded. "Hai... like, last night... I was at the river and
the guy who lives here," he pointed to Toshiya and Kyo's
apartment, "was floating in the water. I drug him out and got him
breathing again.. he would've died if I hadn't come by..."

"Wait... you mean Kyo?" Toshiya began to wipe the tears from his
eyes.

The other shook his head. "Said his name was Miyamoto."

Toshiya slightly laughed. "Could still be him..." Then he got
worried. "So... how do you know he lives here?"

"Cuz after alot of convincing, he finally told me where he lives and
this morning I dropped him off... I'm just back to check on him..."

"Are you sure it's this apartment?"

The man nodded. "Yeah... why?"

//Then.... what was he doing in the river?// "I'm his roomate..."

"Oh! Totchi?"

Toshiya nodded. "Toshiya, actually..."

"Sou desu... I'm Hakuei."

Kaoru opened his mouth slightly and his eyes widened a bit in
shock. "Kyo?"

"I know you don't..." Kyo choked back some tears, "don't feel the
same... but..." he bit the inside of his lip, his eyebrows furrowing
in frustration and Kaoru brought him close, hugging the vocalist as
he whimpered, "I just had to tell you..."

Kaoru held Kyo against his chest as he ran through his mind of his
treatment of Kyo. //All that... he stuck around... he took
it...// "Kyo... I had no idea..."

"Well... now you do..." Kyo mumbled through tears streaming down his
face. He pulled away. "I... I have to go..." he got up off the
couch and ran out the door, stopping suddenly as he saw Hakuei and
Toshiya.

Shinya woke up to the feel of Die's lips on his own and smiled
against them. He returned the kiss happily and lifted up a bit to
meet Die's lips better. As he came out of the kiss, he saw Die with
only a towel around his waist--obviously Die had just taken a
shower. "Wake up hon..." he smiled. "Take a shower while I fix some
breakfast for us."

Shinya smiled and wrapped his arms around Die, pulling him down for
another kiss before nodding. "Okay."

Kaoru rushed up to Kyo, only to stop and wonder at who it was Kyo was
gawking at. Toshiya rushed up from his sitting posistion and hugged
Kyo tightly before pulling away and slapping him. "You told me you
were MUGGED! And here he says you were drowning?!" Toshiya's voice
trembled and whined. "Why'd you lie to me?"

Hakuei just stood up slowly and blinked in confusion, wearing an
expression saying, "Did I do anything wrong?"

"Toshiya..."

"Why did you say you were mugged? What were you doing near the river
anyway?"

"River?" Kaoru asked, watching Kyo cringe from Toshiya's hysterical
demands.

"I... Toshiya... I just didn't want you to worry..." Kyo mumbled.

"Not want me to worry? Kyo! You come home battered and torn and
wet! How am I NOT supposed to worry?" Toshiya gripped onto Kyo's
shoulders. "What's up with you? Why won't you tell me?"

"It's NOTHING Toshiya!" Kyo pulled away from Toshiya violently and
ran down the hall and down the stairs, not even bothering to take the
elevator.

The others watched in shock until Kaoru suddenly took off for the
elevator, leaving Hakuei and Toshiya alone.

Kyo kept running and running until he saw an alley to the side. He
turned into it and fell onto the hard ground, curling up into a ball
and sobbing. //DAMN IT! Why am I crying so much? I'm such a weak
person!// He didn't even notice as Kaoru sat down next to him until
Kaoru put a hand on his shoulder. Kyo shot his eyes back to Kaoru
and gasped. "Kaoru?"

GAH! Short part again! And... Wow... what's it with putting Hakuei
into DEG fics now a days? I TRIED putting Ryutaro in it....but he
wouldn't really work for his role later on....
And I'm glad so many of you enjoy the compatiblity test ^.~
