Episode 41: Back to Diety Hall

Kyo grumbled as he walked out to the tutor room with another yellow note in his hand. He was getting -very- tired of people leaving notes to him. If someone wanted to tell him something, why couldn’t they just SAY it??

It was night and the building was dark. The front doors were locked, but Kyo easily slipped in through the fire exit. He creeped quietly through the halls with a small flashlight at hand. He reached the tutor room in no time. He turned the know slowly and peeked in. empty. Or so it seemed empty.

He entered the room cautiously. He wasn’t even halfway through the doorway when someone grabbed his arm, pulled him, then shut the door. He was pressed up against the door as he dropped the flashlight. He felt soft, hot lips kiss him passionately. To his dismay, he gave a muffled moan of pleasure.

Suddenly, the lips left him and a soft chuckle filled the quiet darkness. “You actually showed up.” The sexy voice sounded teasing.

Annoyed, Kyo roughly pushed him away. “Shut it, Sugi. What do you want?”

Sugizo chuckled again. “What do you mean?” he pressed his arousal on Kyo’s. “Isn’t it obvious?”

Kyo struggled. “What is it this time? Another revenge tactic from Yoshiki? Are you playing Yoshiki’s black knight again? Is this because I slept with him?”

Sugizo froze. “You… you slept with the professor?”

Kyo covered his mouth with his hands. He didn’t just say that.

“Did you… did you…?”

Kyo pushed him away. “Yes we did! What do YOU care about it?!”

“Did you like it?”

“Hell NO!”

Sugizo huffed. “WELL! It seems the king broke his bargain.”

“Bargain? What are you talking about?”

“I had a deal with Yoshiki. He gets revenge on you; I get you to myself.”

“W-what? You mean…”

“I mean *I* wanted you to come here today because *I* wanted you to.”

Kyo blinked unbelievably. Actually, he was getting dizzy. What was going on? Why are so many things happening at once?

“I’ll show you who’s a better fuck.” Sugizo whispered sensually as he licked the blonde’s lip like a cat.

Kaoru trudged up the staircase silently with ease. He’d gotten used to climbing the enormous, ceaseless steps since last year. He chuckled to himself as he remembered his frist day at the dorm. He placed his baggaged down and stared at the door.

Room 304……

He searched for his keys in his pockets. He was ready to insert the key in the lock, but stopped once he heard sounds from the inside. Music. Loud and crazy remixed music. He tried the door. Opened. Typical for Toshiya to leave the door open.

Kaoru stepped in and looked around. Deja vu. He had to smile. The place was a mess. Of course, plenty of skimpy vinyl clothes and smears of make-up covered any stepping space. But Toshiya wasn’t sitting and reading a magazine. He was lying down and sprawled out on the floor. Sleeping.

Kaoru blew a strand away from his face. Only Toshiya could sleep soundly with the radio turned full blast - well, Kyo could sleep with it twice as loud.

Kaoru walked over the slumbering form and turned the volume down. He grabbed the blue blanket from Toshiya’s bed and covered the blue head with it. Kaoru remained kneeling and staring at the peaceful face. He wondered how Toshiya would act around him now, especially after the incident on the train station…

As if by coincidence, Toshiya began stirring. “Hnnn….” He moaned softly.

Kaoru felt he should stand up and save himself the embarrassment of being caught staring, but he was glued to the spot.

Toshiya stretched his long and slender body. His hand bumped into Kaoru’s knee and the blue head immediately blinked. He stared at Kaoru, then jolted up to his feet.

“OhmiGod! Kaoru!” He gasped.

Kaoru slowly got to his feet. “Umm… hi. I just got back..”

“Oh…” Toshiya flushed.

Silence droned on for a bit. Kaoru could hear the tick tocks of the blue clock on Toshiya’s dresser.

Tick.

Tock.

Tick.

Tock.

Ti ---

“About the train station ---.”

“--- I have something for you.” Kaoru broke in.

Toshiya blinked nervously.

Kaoru shifted his weight a bit. “I… I bought something from my hometown.” He quickly grabbed his backpack and searched for the little black box while Toshiya stood apprehensively across the room. Finally, Kaoru found it.

Kaoru handed the box to Toshiya.

Toshiya reluctantly took the box. “What is it?” he asked as he opened it. Toshiya stared, and kaoru saw a pretty smile slowly creeping on the pretty boy’s lips. “Waaahh!!” Toshiya exclaimed. “This is SO gorgeous!!” He held out the bracelet and jumped up and down excitedly. The chain was thin, but had several tiny metal dreamcatchers hooked on it. “… but… what’s this for?”

“Ano…” Kaoru replied. “It’s a form of apology.”

“Eh?”

“For the train station.”

Toshiya’s smile grew nervous. “You don’t’ have to apologize for that. It’s the truth.”

Kaoru wasn’t sure what the truth is anymore.

“but I hurt you and I didn’t want to.”

Toshiya looked at his feet. “No. I hurt myself by thinking I can get someone I knew I could never have…”

Kaoru bit his lip.

“if that’s why you gave me this, I cannot accept it. There’s no reason for your apology.”

“Toshiya. I gave you that because I wanted us to remain friends. I really wanted to ease the tension somehow.”

Toshiya looked at his roommate. The purple head looked so hurt, so forlorn that he rejected the gift. The blue head looked at the bracelet and fingered the dreamcatcher charms. It’s so beautiful and well made. It must’ve cost a fortune.

“Thanks for the gift, kao-kao.” Toshiya said.

Kaoru smiled. “You’re welcome, Totchi.”

Toshiya held out the bracelet. ‘Ne. can you put it on me?”

“Sure.” Kaoru took the piece of jewelry and put it around Toshiya’s right wrist. The clasps were very hard to manage.

Toshiya stared at Kaoru while he fumbled with the clasp. His thin eyebrows were knitted together and his luscious lips were upturned into the cutest frown. Toshiya felt so much pain in his chest.

A friend.

He wanted a friend. Nothing more; nothing less. Why couldn’t he just frankly reject him? To totally reject him and close off all ties would have been much easier. But he wouldn’t let him. He wanted to stay close.

Toshiya sighed internally. Just as long as Kaoru kept to himself, he could tamper down his feelings and hopefully move on toe someone who would love him back. Then, there wouldn’t be any pain. He’d had too much pain recently. He just wanted the hurt to go away.

“There.” Kaoru said as he finished.

“Wai! Kirei!’ Toshiya held his hand up and swung it around. “Where did you get this from?”

“My hometown. You like it?”

“Of course I like it!” Toshiya said. “Gyah! I have to get you something now!”

“You don’t have to!”

“Yes, I do! ^.^!” Toshiya smiled brightly. “Let’s go shopping.”

Kaoru pouted. “I knew there had to be a catch to that.”

But inside, he felt very happy.

Next day….

Kyo woke up in a daze and stared at his surroundings. He sat up and realized he was in his dorm. He scratched his head. Maybe what happened the night before was all a dream.

Suddenly, he noticed a yellow post-it not on his dresser table:

‘Hey, Cutie,

Hope you enjoyed. We’ll have to do this again ^_-

XOXOXOXO

Sugizo.’

Kyo frowned. But despite his annoyance with the post-it notes, he had to admit last night was great sex. Sugi was good. Kyo thought for a moment. So is Yoshiki.

Kyo hit himself. ~I’m going nuts!~

The two top names on his most hated list are the two people that could give him the most pleasure.

~What the (#*$^#*%#!@(!!!!!!????~

Kyo hit his head on the head board over and over again.

“… Kyo-san?”

Kyo stopped and saw Hyde and Levin giving him peculiar looks.

“Are you OK?” Hyde asked.

“I’M FINE!”

Hyde and Levin winced.

“Ano…” Levin started. “Why are you hitting your head?”

“SHUT UP!!” Kyo snapped. “I do it because I want to.”

“But doesn’t it hurt?”

“What do you think?!”

“But why do you do it?”

Kyo was losing his cool. He wanted to gauge those big, innocent *cute* eyes out and strangle the tiny form. “I told you to SHUT UP!!” Kyo growled and lunged forward.

Levin: EEKS!

Hyde quickly pulled Levin back so that Kyo would land on the floor face-first. “I think we’d better leave now.” He dragged Levin out the door and shut it in place with a chair from the hall. They heard Kyo struggling to get out of the door and banging his fist against the wood.

“I’ll get you, you little pest!!” Kyo gave muffled screams.

“Is he going to be alright?” Levin asked.

Hyde shrugged.

“Hey, guys.’ Die greeted.

“Die-san!” Levin said. “Kyo tried to kill me!”

Die raised an eyebrow and stared at the door.

“Come back here!” Kyo yelled.

“Why’s he like that?” Die asked Hyde.

“We dunno.” Hyde said. “We woke up because he was banging his head on the headboard. When we asked him if he was OK, he started coming after us. I think he’s upset about something.”

Die nodded. “Someone probably called him cute.” He walked over to the door and knocked. “KYO!!”

The noises from the inside stopped. “Die?”

“Yes. That’s me.”

“what do you want!?” Kyo growled.

“Why’d you try to kill Levin?”

“Because he’s Levin. What’s it to you?”

“Shin-chan wouldn’t be very happy if that happened.”

“Fuck Shinya.”

“I’d like to, but unfortunately, he’s not here right now.”

“Shut up! You pervert!”

“C’mon, Kyo. We’re all perverts here.”

“You’re a pervert, Sugi’s a pervert, Yoshiki’s a pervert, and EVERYONE”S A GODDAMN PERVERT!!!!!”

Levin, Die, and Hyde looked at each other confusedly. What did Sugi and Yoshiki have to do with anything?

“Kyo.” Die said. “What did Sugi and Yoshiki do to you?”

“They tricked me! I hate them both and I hate everything!”

“Mou~!” Levin pouted. “I don’t like so much hating.”

“I think we should just leave him alone.” Die suggested. “He’ll calm down in a bit. You both can stay at my place.”

“Arigatou, Die-san.”

Miyabi watched as the taxi turned around the corner and left. He sighed as he picked up his bags to go into the dormitory next to Diety Hall. He went up to the second floor and walked down the hallway. He had a single, which meant he didn’t have any roommates. His room was fairly tiny and located on the farthest end of the hall. He didn’t mind though because he appreciated the peace and quiet.

Miyabi stopped at his doorstep in surprise to find a nice bouquet of roses tied on the doorknob. Gingerly, he picked up the roses and inspected it. There was a tiny card attatched to it. Miyabi felt his heart stop when he read the card:

‘To my dearest,

I would like to escort you to the charity masquarade/Halloween dance this coming October, that is, if you have not found a date yet. I also want to sincerely apologize for the grief I caused you during the trip to the Terachi’s.

Much Love,

Hakuei’
