Eight

I'm baaaaack~!

"So you're NOT bandits…" The relief in Aiji's sore voice was apparent.

Boy this fairyling can sure shriek! Definitely on my "Fun to scare" list.

Kyo made a mental note as he promptly placed Aiji's name onto his list, pushing Levin's name down a slot.

"Sumimasen! Hontou ni sumimasen!" Toshiya was apologising profusely, bowing in earnest with Kyo in his arms.

Woo~! Woo~! To..Tot..Totchi~ I'm gonna… puke if… if.. you don't…. don't stop…

It took some time, and lots of explaining from Akira and Die to finally clear the air about Toshiya's outrageous actions, who they were and who "Papi" really was with Kaoru and Aiji.

"So…. That's your brother?"

Kaoru crocked an eyebrow, staring at the ladybug in Toshiya's arms, but his question was directed at Die.

"Yes, hope he wasn't trouble for ya~" Die grinned sheepishly as he ruffled Kyo's hair a bit. Kyo twitched his antennas.

Nii-san

"Uuuuh~! Ain't you a cutie! Cho-kawaii ne~!"

Akira cooed at the ladybug. He was having a hell of a time teasing the ladybug, knowing fully well that he would be pounced on if Kyo had been elf-Kyo instead of ladybug-Kyo.

Akira I'll make sure you wouldn't see tomorrow's sunrise

"Aki-kun, don't do that! He will be very angry with you." Toshiya swatted Akira away, but made the same mistake when he himself went on to babying Kyo, "Isn't that right, Kyo-chan?"

Oopff! Totchi!!

"Mou! Totchi!" Akira protested and tried to snatch Kyo away from his blue-haired friend.

Die decided to step in now because the scene was getting a bit too familiar.

"Okay guys, quit playing around and let's get Kyo back to normal."

Toshiya mumbled something to the ladybug. The ladybug twitched its antennas. Then both the ladybug and Toshiya disappeared from their sight.

"Eh!?" Die, Akira, Kaoru and Aiji were dumfounded.

"Where'd they go to?" Akira scratched his head in confusion.

"Here you idiot! Wait till I get my hands on you Akira-KUN…. I swear you'd wish you were never born!"

All eyes fell to the ground. Toshiya was lying on the ground with a VERY angry Kyo on top of him, who was trying to dislodge himself from Toshiya's arms and get up.

Kaoru and Aiji stared at the new fairyling that appeared before them. The two, born and raised in the city, had never seen magic in action at such close range. They'd only seen performances at fairs and such. But never had they seen REAL magic.

"Eep~! Gotta run! See ya!" Mock dread oozed out of Akira as he said his goodbye and took off hastily.

Kyo had got onto his feet by now and Kaoru and Aiji had to smile. Kyo was small and cute!

"Kaw-" Aiji was about to finish what he was going to say when he choked on it.

"Akira-kun~ Wait for me. I wanna play with you~" The words spoken were innocent. The speaker looked like an angel from heaven. But the tone had an unmistakably ominous undertone that promised pure hell.

Aiji swallowed and took a step back instinctively while Kaoru shuddered.

Toshiya gave an involuntarily yelp and scrambled up to hide behind Die who seemed to have mumbled something that sounded like "… God be with you Aki…"

"A~kira~kun~~" Kyo sounded awfully sweet. But the glint in his eyes told another story.

"Ouu, Akira-kun wants to play hide-and-seek… Okie, you go hide…… And I'll seek!" The last three words Kyo growled screamed murder and the element of fear was intensified at that instant when a gust of icy cold wind suddenly blew past.

Toshiya shivered and grabbed onto Die tighter whilst the redhead made a mental note to ask his parents about Kyo's true genealogy.
