"New Kids on The Block are back on the block after fifteen years. Jonathan Knight is now 39, Donnie Wahlberg 38, Joey McIntyre 35, Danny Wood 38 and Jordan Knight is 37. And you? NKOTB 2008 Donald Wahlberg Sr., the father of Donnie and Mark Wahlberg, passed away last February 14, 2008. RIP. Mark Wahlberg and long-time girlfriend Rhea Durham welcomed their third child, a boy, on September 17 2008, in Los Angeles. The couple already have a 4-year-old daughter, Ella, and a 2-year-old son, Michael. No name for the new baby boy has been revealed yet.
NKOTB 2007 Jordan Knight and wife Evelyn Melendez welcomed their second son: Eric Jacob Knight on February 21, 2007. On November 20, 2007 Joe McIntyre and wife Barrett Williams had their first baby: Griffin Thomas McIntyre. According to Wikipedia and Imdb.com Donnie Wahlberg and Kim Fey divorced in 2007.
Jordan Knight Jordan Knight made a comeback in 1999 by releasing his first solo single "Give It To You". The single reached #10 on Billboard Hot 100, it went Platinum selling over a million singles, and was nominated for a 1999 MTV Video Music Award for Best Dance Video, though he didn't win. Knight released a remix album "Jordan Knight Performs New Kids on the Block" (AKA The Remix Album) in 2004. Knight was a third season cast member on the VH1 reality television series The Surreal Life with other B-list celebrities in 2004. He later appeared in the 2007 spinoff The Surreal Life: Fame Games, but left during the filming of the premiere episode because of the death of his maternal grandmother. In 2005, Knight released a new EP entitled The Fix with the lead single "Where is Your Heart Tonight" which reached its peak at #12 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart. He continues to tour extensively in 2005/2006 promoting his EP The Fix. September 2006, Knight 's long awaited new album Love Songs was released by Transcontinental Records. The first single was Say Goodbye featuring Deborah Gibson, which peaked at #24 on Billboard's Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart. He became a father on August 25, 1999 to a son, Dante Jordan. On February 21, 2007 he and wife Evelyn had another son Eric Jacob Knight.
Donnie Wahlberg Donnie left music for the world of acting. He has been in several films and television shows since his debut in 1996's Bullet such as: Southie (1998), "Band of Brothers" (2001), "Boomtown" (2002-2003), Dreamcatcher (2003), Saw II (2005), Saw III (2006), and "Runaway" 2006. Donnie is currently starring in the A&E original movie Kings of South Beach which is based on a true story of a Miami nightclub promoter who made South Beach a nightlife haven. His next project is the Spike TV show The Kill Pit. Wahlberg lives in Los Angeles with his wife Kim, and sons Xavier and Elijah. Donnie was married to Kim Fey from 1999 to 2007. Joey McInyre Disenchanted at his inability to find a recording contract, McIntyre used his own money to record his first solo album Stay the Same and sold it on his website. He then took his first single also entitled Stay the Same from the album to local Boston DJs, helping it to eventually receive national airplay. The combination of airplay and website sales for the single led to McIntyre signing a recording contract in 1999 with Sony Music USA, which, under the Columbia label, had previously been home to New Kids on the Block. He has since released: "Meet Joe Mac" (2001), One Too Many: Live From New York (2002), 8:09 (2004), and Talk To Me (2006). Joe took part in Dancing with the Stars - The Tour from December 19, 2006 to February 11, 2007. McIntyre married Barrett Williams on August 9, 2003, exactly a year after they had met. The title of his fourth solo album 8:09 refers to the date he met his future wife (who works in real estate) in 2002. It is also the street address of the house she found for him, which is where he wrote the 8:09 album. The 809 date is also his wedding date and is inscribed on his wedding band. McIntyre recently wrapped the film On Broadway, which was filmed in his hometown of Boston. Joey McIntyre and his wife Barrett welcomed their first child on November 20th 2007, when Griffin Thomas McIntyre was born.
Danny Wood Danny continues to work in the music industry. He released his first real solo album under his name DANNY WOOD on July 22nd 2003. He also released the following cds: "Room Full of Smoke" (Released under the name D-Fuse), "Room Full Of Smoke 2" (Released under the name D-Wood), "D of Dorchester" (Exclusively released on tour), and "Second Face" (Dedicated to his late mother). In 2007 he released the cd "Coming Home." Danny lost his mother, Betty Wood, to cancer in 1999 and set up a foundation in her memory. He was recently divorced. Danny lives in Miami, Florida. He has four children: Anthony (ex-wife Patty's son), Chance (adopted with ex-wife Patty from Russia; born in 1998), Daniel Jr. (born in 1992 with then girlfriend, Elise Stepherson), and Vega (born March 1999).
Jonathan Knight The oldest of the New Kids has become the most reclusive member. Suffering from an anxiety and panic disorder, he no longer felt that he could continue performing and quit the group in 1993. In a rare public appearance in 2001 on the Oprah Winfrey Show with his brother, Jordan, Jon revealed that he suffers from panic attacks and had done so for many years. He almost had a panic attack on stage during the taping and had to be comforted by Winfrey. Since then, Knight has retired to his secluded farm in Massachusetts. Today, Jonathan Knight works as a real estate developer. His own property in Massachusetts was for sale for a reported asking price of $3,200,000 (USD). Disclaimer |
