TOEFL Preparation

 Looks good!

The following are links to useful sites regarding the TOEFL:

  • Free TOEFL.com: Here you can get "unlimited access to a full-length practice Structure exam as well as demos of our Listening and Reading sections."   So what's the catch? You have to register (meaning you will have your own username and password). Still, it's free, and perhaps worth a look!

  • TOEFL.org: the official site of the TOEFL (Educational Testing Service). Be sure to look at their sample questions online; it's an eight-page document, mostly showing what the computerized version of the TOEFL looks like, although the last two pages (i.e., 7 and 8) are what the tests looks like on the paper-based test, which you will take during week #9.

  • Petersen’s Test Preparation: a few sample items, as well as some tips and strategies to do your best on the TOEFL.

  • TOEFL Practice: from the site www.stuff.co.uk, many of these practice questions are actually quite difficult, but at least you can get a better idea of what the format of the items.

I hope you find these sites useful. If you know of any other good websites about the TOEFL, please let me know, and I'll be happy to include them here! (My office is upstairs, room number 2203, and my email is mdyer@pi.ac.ae).
