The drama Closing the Ring is set in the years 1943 and 1993. An American pilot crash lands near Belfast and before dying asks a local to return his ring to his girlfriend in America. Half a century later, another young man finds the ring, learns its history, and goes on a journey to find the woman. Richard Attenborough directs the picture and stars with Shirley MacLaine and Mischa Barton.
Peter Woodward wrote the script.
