Dayton Aeros

Founded: November 1, 1971 by Paul Deneau as the Dayton Aeros of the World Hockey Association.


The Dayton Aeros were an original ten franchise of the World Hockey Association. The team was almost doomed from the start, because of arena problems. The town which never had a proper facility and had little desire by the people of Dayton. Due to all of these problems owner Paul Deneau moved the team south to Houston Texas. The Houston Aeros became one of the most successful franchises in the WHA's short seven year history.
