Welcome to the Quinault Nation Canoe Clubs Homepage! If you are wondering the Quinault Indian Nation is located in Washington State on the Olympic Peninsula. There are about 18 members of this virtually unknown "Canoe Club". We are believed to be the "ONLY" canoe club in the Nation to race canoes with "Modified" motors on the rear. All of the canoes are original cedar "dugout" canoes. My name is Tony Ibabao and I am a member of the club. The particular canoe I race, "LIL CHITWHIN" is about 35 years old. That's the "chitwhin" up top. My father-in-law (Charlie, now a retired "pro" racer) got me into racing these canoes about 10 years ago. Our season starts on May 30th, with a race up river about 35 miles. This particular run can be a very dangerous race. With log jams and boulders lurking under water. It takes the racers about 40 to 45 minutes to get to the finish line.
You can see the event schedule by clicking the link below, and I apoligize, the webpage will be updated as soon as possible.
