During the competition between the Urameshi team vs. Ichigaki team, only six competitors ( 3 from Urameshi, 3 from Ichigaki ) were fighting in the dome. Hiei and Kurama were outside fighting the other two members of the Ichigaki team. Hiei and Kurama succeeded as well as their team mates.

BEFORE THE MATCH WITH THE URAOTOGI TEAM : Genkai passed her spirit light gem or her "Rei-Kou-Gyoku" to Yusuke even though she was aware that Yusuke was still 10 years younger to inherit such power. This gem indwells in the body of a person which was not an easy process to undergo. But with the help of Puu, he was able to absorb the power and overcomed the pains. He fell asleep to rest after such a tiring experience.

BEFORE THE MATCH WITH THE TOGURO TEAM : 
A challenge between Genkai and Toguro was held in private.But because Genkai had already transferred her powers to Yusuke, she had no chance against Toguro. As the match went on, Yusuke woke up sensing his master was in danger. He rushed to the woods to find her. But the moment he got there, he saw her being hit by Toguro which caused her death.

In this part of the series, Koenma appeared in his adult form for the first time.
Urameshi Team vs. Rokuyukai Team ( head: Zeru )
Roto vs. Kurama. Kurama almost won the match and then suddenly, Roto showed him a remote. Once Roto presses the button, a bomb will detonate in Shiori's house ( Kurama's mother ). Kurama couldn't do anything at the time being. He just followed whatever Roto told him to do. All of a sudden, Kurama threw a seed against Roto's chest. Nothing happened at first. Roto thought it was just a bluff. Then a few seconds later, a plant bursted out inside Roto - killing him instantly by the vines that went through his flesh. Kurama destroyed the control afterwards. Kurama was the victor.
Rinku vs Kuwabara. Rinku was the victor in this match coz he is much stronger then Kuwabara. Rinku used his yoyos and used Kuwabara like a kite and then crashes him on the ground.
The two other members of the Rokuyukai team ran away from fear. Chu, their team mate, was the one who finished them off. Zeru vs Hiei. During this match, Hiei used his powerful technique, the "Ensatsu-Koku-Ryu-Ha" or the "Evil-King-Black-Dragon-Wave" Technique ,for the very first time. Zeru, his opponent, was disintegrated after being eaten by the dragon, and Hiei almost lost his arm after using that technique which he hadn't mastered yet. Yusuke vs Chu. Let's just go to the interesting part. Chu and Yusuke almost had the same level of physical strength so they decided to use only their physical strength in their match. They both stepped one foot forward using one feet while the other feet stayed at the back. A knife was stabbed against the ground just behind their foot ( the one at the back ) so whoever gets pushed away, the back of their foot will surely be cut ( ouch! ). And so, they punch, punch, punch, punch , and still kept on hitting each other until one of them falls down. Yusuke literally used his head to smack Chu's face. Chu fell down and Yusuke was the victor. The Urameshi team won the match.

Urameshi Team vs. Dr. Ichigaki Team ( head: Dr. Ichigaki )
This match was done 3 members from Urameshi team ( Yusuke, Kuwabara, Fukumen ) vs. 3 members from Ichigaki team in one match. Fukumen's secret was revealed in this match. Fukumen was none other than Genkai, but in her young age. When Genkai saves her rei ki in her body, she becomes young in body, but when she loses much rei ki , she turns back into her old appearance. Their opponents were good and they only had a small chance from winning. As the match went on, Yusuke and the others noticed that the 3 Ichigaki members that they were fighting on were crying. The tears that came out from their eyes were not salty water but pure blood. Kuwabara discovered that they were controlled by Dr. Ichigaki like guneapigs. They had this purple, circular pump attached at their backs. It was used so that they would obey Dr. Ichigaki's orders. Yusuke and Kuwabara felt pity for the 3 but at the same time, they were dispise Dr. Ichigaki for what he had done. Knowing that Yusuke and Kuwabara couldn't do anything to hurt their opponents, Genkai used her special technique that would eliminate any evil being engulfing an innocent soul. It's been 20 years since she used that technique but it was worth to try. As she used the technique, the 3 ichigaki team fell on the ground. They were unconscious. Dr. Ichigaki went berserk after his 'puppets'' defeat and so he transformed into a fearsome beast ( his true form ) and fought Yusuke. Yusuke was the victor. The 3 whom Genkai 'treated' were now conscious and they circular objects behind them were gone. Hiei and Kurama appeared in the scene and they brought with them the 3 players' master who was the very reason why the 3 agreed on participating Ichigaki's tournament. Their master became very ill and the doctors couldn't do anything about it. Ichigaki took advantage of the situation and made a deal with the 3 fighters : Ichigaki would treat their master only if they were to agree to participate in his experiment. Kurama and Hiei, after their fight with the other 2 Ichigaki team outside the dome, found the guy inside a cave. Kurama used his healing herbs to treat his illness. Later on, they brought him inside the dome using Gatasubaru as their entrance. ( ehehe..you'll get it once you saw this part ). When the 3 fighters saw their master, the four of them burst into tears and hugged each other ( group hug! ).The four of them left the stage afterwards. Well, obviously, the Urameshi team won the match.

Urameshi Team vs. Mashoutoukai Team ( head: Rishou )
Just after the fight with Ichigaki team, the panel of judges decided to move on with the next match. Kuwabara was still in no condition to fight while Hiei and Genkai were trapped inside Ruka's electric field. Ruka is a member of the Mashoutoukai team. She disguised as a nurse and lured Genkai & Hiei by telling them that they were too weak to fight. That leaves Kurama and Yusuke to fight the next team. Kurama faced three challengers : Gamma, Touya, and Bakken. Kurama was badly injured after his match with Touya , so Kurama just stood in the middle of the stage while Bakken kept on hitting him. Kurama was motionless. Yusuke pleaded to stop the fight coz Kurama might die. Bakken continued to hit Kurama until he was called by Rishou. Rishou told Bakken to look behind him coz Yusuke was already aiming at Bakken - ready to fire his rei gun and ready to break the rules. Bakken spared Kurama's life and confronted Yusuke instead. Well, to get it over with, Yusuke defeated Bakken by punching him numerous times until Bakken falls down. The next match was Yusuke vs. Jin.
This was the first time that Yusuke used his technique, the "rei-kou-dan" or the "spirit-light-bullet". It was more like a shotgun actually. This technique was used against Jin, one of the most powerful foes Yusuke has confronted in the tournament.   Jin was defeated by this technique.
Next match: Kuwabara vs. Rishou. The judges informed them that Yusuke is not allowed to fight this match because there was already 2 wins and 2 loses ( Kurama vs Bakken and Yusuke vs Jin ). They said Yusuke was outside the ring when Jin fell down. Yusuke went mad and decided not to follow the stupid rules anymore and Hiei felt the same way. Kuwabara, however, convinced Yusuke that if they will not follow the rules bestowed in the tournament, then they are no different than the beasts they defeated. Yusuke agreed to it and therefor, Kuwabara volunteered to fight Rishou, eventhough he had not yet recovered from his injuries. He can't even walk straight because of his broken bones. As the match went on, Kuwabara realized that he just can't win so he decided to take suicide by Rishou's hands. He communicated with each of his team mates through telepathy to say his goodbyes. After this scenario, Kuwabara ran towards Rishou and was about to sacrifice himself. Fortunately, Yukina appeared amidst the audience during the match. She called Kuwabara's name and Kuwabara saw her. Yukina's appearance made Kuwabara more powerful and for that he was able to throw Rishou away from the ring. Kuwabara was the victor. The Urameshi team won the match.  

Urameshi Team vs. Uraotogi Team ( head: Onjii / Suzuki )
This was a match they fought without Yusuke for the second time and they were transfered to a new covered dome.
-Juri ( the new ring leader ) was introduced.
During the match of Hiei and Koromomotaru, Hiei's sword broke into three for the first time when he tried to slash the armor of his opponent. His "En-Satsu-Rengoku-Shou" or the "Fire-Killing-Purgatory-Scorching" ( series of punches with fire ) was also useless. Instead, he used his "Jaou-Ensatsu-ken" or the "Evil-King-Fire-Killing-Ken" ( black fire sword ) to defeat him. The "Jaou-Ensatsu-Ken" is a deadly technique that can cut through anything, even the thickest walls or steel, so this technique was essential to Hiei's success
The match between Kurama and Uraurashima was also a breaking point. It was in this match when Kurama changed into a youko for the first time within his human life. Urashima was killed by his own team mate, Wakamaru, by throwing his sword towards Urashima. The next match was Kuwabara vs. Wakamaru. Kuwabara was quickly hurled into Wakamaru's vail and brought him to a dark place where even Wakamaru does not know about. Well, fortunately for Kuwa-chan, he was just transported to the old stage ( only a few blocks from the dome they are currently using ). Kuwabara, after falling down from the dark hole, he recognizes the place he's in and went back to the dome as fast as he could to finish his match. Meanwhile, knowing that Kuwabara has disappeared the referee declared that Wakamaru was the winner. After declaring it, Genkai took charge and faced Wakamaru. Let's just jump to the final blow: Genkai absorbed Wakamaru's ki through his sword. Genkai transformed into her young female version. Wakamaru was defeated. As he laid down the stage, he was dazzled by Genkai's beautiful face. Then eventually, he became unconscious.
-Hiei learned the "paper-scissors-rock" game.This game was done to find out who will challenge the leader of the Uraotogi team since Yusuke was not present at that time. Kuwabara was the victor.
Kuwabara, who has returned from the old stage, fought Onjii but it did not last long. Onjii had this technique of absorbing his opponent into a dimension hole ( just like Wakamaru ) and that unfortunate being who will be absorbed will be lost forever ( well, they all say so ). Well, Kuwabara was absorbed in this hole but he keeps landing on the same old stage. Genkai took over and fought Onjii. Onjii eventually transformed to his original form - Suzuki ( the clown ). Genkai was the victor in this match because Suzuki was just too darn weak. The Urameshi team won the match.

Urameshi Team vs. Toguro Team ( head: Sakyo )
The final match of the tournament. Before the match, both persons in charge of the two teams made a deal. If the Toguro team wins the tournament, the head of the Urameshi team, Koenma, must give up his life. But if the Urameshi team wins, Sakyo must give up his life.

Kurama vs. Karasu.
Before the match, Kurama drank some of the solution that Suzuki gave him. It should help him turn back as a youko and defeat Karasu. And during the match,he did turn into his youko form and helped him greatly against Karasu. But it was unfortunate for him because he turned back to his human form after a the explosion made by Karasu. When he was down and extremely weak ( the ring leader was counting ) he immediately used his Bloodsucker Plant against Karasu. The plant sucked all of Karasu's blood and killed him . Kurama lost the match eventhough he defeated Karasu because he was not able to get up before the count ended. 

Hiei vs. Bui.
Hiei used his "Ensatsu-Koku-Ryu-Ha" once again ,but this time, his opponent, Bui, managed to turn the dragon back to Hiei with his bare hands. The dragon immediately swallowed its master and disappeared.  And just when the judges thought that Bui had won the match, Hiei suddenly appeared with his black power burning all over him. The dragon became one with him which placed Bui in serious trouble. When Bui was knocked out in the audience area, he told Hiei his story and told him to finish him off for good. After hearing his story, Hiei paused for a moment and went back to the ring before the count ended - ignoring Bui's request.

DAMAGE REPORT: Almost ¼ of the dome was damaged after unleashing the Black Dragon. The stage was completely destroyed which caused the delay of the Toguro brothers' match with Kuwabara and Yusuke. 

Kuwabara vs. Toguro Ani.
In this match,Kuwabara used the sword handle that Suzuki gave him before the match started. It was in this match when Kuwabara knew about the death of Genkai. He was nearly killed by Toguro but he managed to produce a different kind of sword to eliminate his opponent. Toguro was defeated but he wasn't killed. 

Yusuke vs. Toguro Ototo.
The final match that will decide who will be the Ankoku Bujutsukai's Champion. Toguro revealed all power he possesed from 50% up to 120% . Yusuke also unleashed everything he'd got; his powers and his battle strategies. But there was a time when Yusuke had gone soft, and the payment for this mistake was Kuwabara's life ( Kuwabara sacrificed himself to help Yusuke release his anger ). Toguro killed him on purpose to make Yusuke release all his energy. After seeing it all happened, Yusuke's power flowed upon his body gently and slowly. After this phenomenon, Yusuke's speed and streghth tremendously increased . It was a starting point of the final battle. To describe the final match, Yusuke took all his energy and transferred all of it to his rei gun. This process took a few minutes before he fired his rei gun. Toguro also exercised all his energy to prepare for the enourmous rei gun. When their powers were at their peak, Yusuke fired his rei gun towards Toguro and Toguro ran towards the rei gun to cease it with one hand. After realizing that he couldn't hold it with only one, he used his other hand which happened for the first time. While he was trying to stop it, plenty of blood was sprouting out of his skin. At that time, Yusuke became very weak and could not fire any more rei ki. He ceased his attack and watched Toguro stop his rei gun. But eventhough Yusuke had already ceased his rei gun, the rei gun itself has power left and formed a big circular energy. It continued to fight Toguro which lasted for a few minutes. Toguro managed to eliminate it by his own hands , leaving his body with smoke from intense heat. After seeing this, Yusuke fell down unconscious. Toguro walked towards him slowly and thanked him for his performance. He was amazed with Yusuke because of the power he produced was higher than 120%, higher than his own power. After saying it, his skin started to crack and crumple. He fell down and suddenly died. Yusuke got up after a few seconds and he was appointed as the champion of the Ankoku Bujutsukai. His win was of no interest to him because he still blame himself for the death of his friend, Kuwabara. It was a shock when he found out that Kuwabara's death was only a bluff. Kuwabara did it on purpose to help Yusuke unleash his powers during those times. 
 

After Toguro's defeat, Sakyo initiated the bombs in every corner of the dome. After a few minutes, the dome was destroyed but Yusuke and the others managed to escape. This was necessary to fullfill the deal that was made. Of course, Sakyo stayed inside the dome to face his death.

DAMAGE REPORT: The whole dome was destroyed. A large number of Class D & Class C youkai were eliminated.
