Brew your own beer!

Brewing your own beer is great. Not only is it fun, educational, and cheap to get started, but it's probably one of the few hobbies that you actually get a product out of in return for your investment and time.

The Brewery: This site contains it all including the ever popular Cat's Meow 3 receipe index. Basically, if you can't find it here, there is a good chance you can't find it anywhere!

Beertown logoBeertown: This is the homepage of the Association of Brewers (AOB) which also includes the American Homebrewers Association (AHA).

Keg Conversion: This page is an excellent source of information for converting stainless steel kegs into brewpots. Lots of good information on the proper way to deal with, modify, clean, or otherwise mess around with stainless steel without ruining it. [Updated!] Sept. 2006 - Dead URL?

Five Gallon Plastic Electric Brewery: As an electrical engineer, and also someone who doesn't have a nice natural gas stove at home, I found this document describing how to build an electric home brewery out of 5 gallon plastic buckets and hot water heater elements particularly interesting. Now I just need to find some time to try some or all of these techniques out for myself. [Updated!] Sept. 2006 - Dead URL?
