Pigots Directory 1839 shows one : RICHMOND, James Ship Owner, Burnham
Church Records show James Richmond married Eliza CRANMER
in Burnham-on-Crouch on 3 March 1841.
Her father was one Alexander CRANMER , his father was Samuel Richmond.Both
these men witnessed the marriage as well as a Sarah NEWMAN, and Sarah
FLINTING.

His occupation was a draper, his father was James Richmond customs officer.
Her father was Edward Powys deceased a glazier and her mother was Elizabeth.1881 Scotland Census.
Thomas Richmond born in Rockford Essex England in 1850. occ shopman draper.
This Thomas is also to be found in the 1871, 1891, and 1901 Scotland census but in each one it just says he came from England.
He was living in Edinburgh married to Mary and had 1 son who was
Thomas P. Richmond born in 1880. We have lost contact with his descendants if any.- there are none. 2008HELLES MEMORIAL - for the Gallipoli dead, in Turkey.

Thomas P. Richmond, 1st Essex Regiment, only son of Mr Thomas Richmond, who resides at 16 Polwarth Grove, Edinburgh, is reported missing, feared drowned. He was on board the Royal Edward. Prior to enlistment he was employed with Messres Copestake, Crompton, & Co, London. Soon after the war was declared he joined the 3rd Battalion Norfolk Regiment, and at the end of July he transferred to the above upon his volunteering for the Dardanelles. [ many thanks to Gordon M for locating this article]
Death Certificate says:
Thomas Richmond [ born Rochford, 1849 ] died in 1931 in Edinburgh, aged 81 years, usual residence 16 Polwarth Grove Edinburgh.
Cause of death Malignant disease of bowel, colostomy, 7-10-29,
