Kerry, Beth and Amy's
Second Annual Summer Trip: 2003
i'm talking high energy screams. i'm talking window shaking bass. i'm talking tearin up the scenery. i'm talking five dollar peach schnapps morning noon and night. i'm talking gas station harassment. i'm talking sweating half naked in the forest. i'm talking cold coffee karisma. i'm talking board shorts and bikini tops. i'm talking cleavage makin and booty shakin. i'm talking river wading and urination vacations. i'm talking dirty words and vulgar sounds. i'm talking meeting strangers and screeching camp songs. i'm talking flashlights and water guns. i'm talking shady silhouttes and gas station bath rooms. i'm talking polaroids and pornography. i'm talking public indecency and road warriors. i'm talking non stop sexual inuendo and cell phone car tag.
This is where things get HECTIC. It's kenetic. Reminds me of Operation Ivy. Things are nothing but energy and the ceiling is a stratosphere. We're still making plans, we're coming up with GREAT ideas and taking suggestions. Like stated, this is all about interaction. This page is a platform for everything about this trip. This is why these pages exhist, why we're passing out business cards, and why we have nothing but youthful exuberance for the endless possibilities of this trip.

Comfy Couch
It's an unassuming piece of wanna-be modern furniture. It was the justification for the first summer road trip. As Karen was leaving her dorm room for the last time after graduating from NYU with HONORS, Beth persuaded her to hold onto it until she could haul it away. Haul it away in her mini-van and take it home! But then the unexpected happened. With the couch taking place of the chairs for backseat passangers, Kerry quickly discovered there was no greater luxuary than a road trip in which she could sleep the entire drive on this black wonder. It was unanimously decided upon trial by Beth and Jen that this was to be a staple of all other future trips. Screw the back seats, leave em at home for the suckers. The sofa offers a comfort and another differentiating charachteristic of road trips with my girls. Feel free if you see us to cuddle up on the couch with us.
Van Decoration
We want to be approachable. We want to be quizical. We want you to know HEY THOSE GIRLS IN THAT VAN ARE ON A ROAD TRIP and we should talk to them. After shooting ideas like writing cell phone numbers and email addresses and the next location on the van, we've decided the best thing to do is nothing. HAHAHA. We DONT want any uneccesary attention. Beyond that, we're not sure what to do. We want to be distinct so those who are expecting us have no QUESTION of which typical American mini-van holds the coolest cargo out there.
Scavanger hunts / Thematic States
So this is where things get good for us. The idea of having a scavanger hunt is still very unorganized. Should we have an item to find in each state? Should we have an item to find in every state? Should we have a general list to keep an eye out for. What kind of things should we be looking for READ: WE NEED YOUR IMPUT. Should it be a picture-proved or are we physically collecting these random things? Should strangers give us the list? Should strangers leave something of theirs along our path with an email clue that will guide us to it? Should we announce our path in that much detail? Should WE leave things behind and post clues on our site (in the metro / populated areas)? How can this be made worth our time? Structure over impulse?
Livejournals
So we've got so much going on and I dont want to miss anything. Nor do many of the people making it all possible. We've got family and friends back home to make jealous. So after worming a laptop away from my older sister, we've definately got the strangest mix of technology and nature plotted. So before i fall asleep, I'm going to take time to type up an entry for my livejournal (kerry's amy's). Then hopefully we can hook up with someone or Kinko-type of stores to quickly upload the info. Or be near a college campus and just sneak into free internet usage. We're trying to locate a digital camera to take along so we can include photos of what we are experiencing on the trip. There's a website based on strangers sharing things with eachother and send each other suprise mail called nervousness.com I think. However, it is no longer excepting new users. DRAT! Something I could get into! So if anyone has a digital camera we could borrow, I can garauntee its safe return.
Technology on the Road
Just to reiterate, we are trying to have a conglomeration??? of nature and technology on this trip. Let's hope you don't try to rob us, cause then I'll be out a laptop! We're looking at cell phones, the laptop, my wonderful soon to be brother in law gave us a digital for the summer! and we have a camcorder of course! I doubt we'll use it though, considering the past. See us, sitting in the woods on a black sofa typing away while the wind blows my hair across my face.
Nature is the basis for everything
Well, we reach the core of our trip when it's time to discuss nature. The way we're saving money is subsituting camping for hotel/motel rooms. We're looking to wake up together in a tent, unzip and walk out to something more pacifying then chocolate. I'm interested in parks in your area, where we can intertube down a lazy river, where a great hiking trail is or the best waterfalls. We want to tube!!! We have campgrounds picked out for Nebraska (Platte River), Tennessee (a state nearby park) and Oklahoma (Turner Falls). What we are hoping to hear is a hot spot near Mobile / Baton Rouge and in Texas, perhaps a place even near/on the beaches.  We prefer places with bathouses but are willing to go a day if we have to!!! No stinky girls on this trip. I'm contemplating bringing along my bike. I dont want to waste my time if I don't use it. I'll probably be too tired from driving and drinking, ya know.
Along with every other plan, we do have some ideas we're hoping to scratch off these "things to do before we die" lists. Things like (Kerry) milking a cow, skinny dipping, and sleeping in teepees. Road trip romance (read: amy and i have great fantacies of hooking up on this trip. In reality we're all much to careful about safe sex and stds for it to happen. But if you wanna make out with us, show up to said campground. We'll entertain the idea) We're also making and hopefully depending on our budgets, buying clothing. The more exciting option is the whole sewing something specifically for the trip. Photos of this as they come.

My greatest goal is to establish something for ourselves so that every trip we take, we meet more people and spend LESS MONEY. California is in the next years, and god knows we cant afford much beyond the gas to get there. Of all the expenses to avoid, its the only thing I can't shake. It's accepted, and only prompts the desire to meticulously devise other ways of eating, sleeping, and enteraining ourselves.
Because we're deep down party girls we've set some standards. First, we should all know and be able to recite Ludicris' song "Fantasy," and that again his song "Move" or whatever should be the common element when it's time to scream at the shitty drivers out there. We all know Beth/Matt/Elizabeth is the best driver out there. Then there's dancing. We shall dance in the streets, in gas stations, in teepees. It would really rock for you to invite us to the local gay bar so we can booty dance with eachother in an arena of acceptance. You know it! haha. so yeah there are several "anthems" for this trip. While in Memphis, i will sing "Walking in Memphis" because i want to.
