Hockey Stick -- Don't get CHECKED!

Frenzy

The winter holiday season is starting and many of you will be thinking of all the fun events coming your way: trips with your family, great holiday meals, or even the special presents you've been looking forward to all year. It's all of those things that can make the holiday season grand! - However, it is important not to forget when celebrating, there are those around the world, across the country, and right here in our community that can't afford the family vacation, or the big holiday meal, or the special presents this year. This may seem very sad to you but its true. Ask your mom or dad and they can help explain it better. You might be thinking "Frenzy, everybody has a wonderful time during the holidays. Its the best time of the year!" But unfortunately that is not always true. There are children from families not as fortunate as yours, there are people who cannot leave their homes, people who do not have their families anymore and people who may have to spend their holiday in the hospital.

But there is something we can do to make everybody's holiday season better. Yes! Even you can help. And here's my plan. Decide that for every nice thing someone does for you, you will do something nice for somebody else. If you think you'll receive lots of presents, you could donate one to the Toys-for-Tots drive. If your family is going to visit friends and family for the holidays, you could visit somebody who can't get out of the house or is in the hospital. If you know someone who will spend the holidays alone, you and your parents could invite them to your house for a holiday meal. There are so many things you can do to help others during the holidays. You can have your family help, and that will make it all the more special.

So this holiday, take some of Frenzy's advice and help others. You'll feel better when you do!

Love ya,
Frenzy
