From the Front Office November, 1996

I recently had the opportunity to speak with Tony Santilli about the last road trip to Mississippi and he had a lot of good things to say. In particular he seemed rather pleased with his counterparts in the Mississippi front office. He commented that they have done great job promoting hockey in a state that has never had a professional hockey team at any level. And, like our first year, their fans are still "rookies" at the game but boy are they enthusiastic rookies!

The players do know you're there. Tony related to me a conversation he had with Jim Paradise after one road trip. Jimmy told him, "I saw the jerseys in the stands tonight." That type of fan support can really go a long way.

"I would like to encourage anyone who gets a chance to watch a game on the road, to go to Mississippi." Tony went on to add that the facilities are second only to Tallahassee's. For those of you who didn't know, the Grand Casino is official host hotel for ECHL League meetings so you know they can treat hockey fans right.

Congratulations Tiger Sharks on a New Franchise Record

On Saturday, November 23, the Tiger Shark set a new record with 9 consecutive home wins. The record for the most consecutive home game wins belongs to South Carolina with 18 during the '94 - '95 season. Some people may not know that last season the Tiger Sharks were one win shy of the league record of 27 home wins. We're already a third of the way there!
