Tallahassee Tiger Sharks

Hockey Stick -- Don't get CHECKED!

The Tallahassee Tiger Sharks would like to thank everyone who was in attendance at the last series of road games. The players do know you are there and your support is welcomed. For those of you that haven't had the chance to travel yet, here's a run down on four of the closer and, in our opinion, the better arenas.

Birmingham: Fun city, lots to do; building was built for hockey when the Birmingham Toros played there.

Jacksonville: Seats always available; shortest drive for visiting ; beach and fishing; shopping.

Mississippi/Biloxi: Great building; good ice level seats; best concessions in league; super star promotions staff.

Pensacola: A+++ building; easy drive there and back; possibly will become the best rivalry.

We look forward to seeing you at the games, both home and away.

Cal Ingraham

Sharks Set New Record

Despite injuries and illnesses, the Tiger Sharks continue to challenge franchise and league records. The new franchise record is set at 13 consecutive home wins after the Tiger Sharks loss the Richmond Renagades on December 20. We can look forward to the T-Sharks digging in and challenging their own record. Keep up the good work Tiger Sharks!

Other Records of Note

For those of you out there keeping track, here's a brief look at how this season is stacking up in the record books.

Most Shutouts: Currently tied for third (thanks to Sonny and the defensive corps) with a number of other teams in previous seasons. In second place with 4 are several teams, most recently the Louisville River Frogs (95-96.) First place with 5 is held jointly by the Dayton Bombers (94-95) and the Knoxville Cherokees (90-91).

Most Home Wins: 27, held by, Richmond Renegades (95-96); Toledo Storm (95-96); Wheeling Thunderbirds (94-95); Knoxville Cherokees (90-91). We're already half (almost) way there. Interestingly enough, we missed tying first place last year by one point.

Most Game-Winning Goals: The record starts at fifth place with a total of 9 and ends at first place with a total of 15. Cal has 6. Way to go Cal!

New General Meeting Location

Monday Night Hockey Meets with the Fin-Atics

The general meeting this January 13 will host the Voice of the Tiger Sharks, Kyle Shultz and the Monday Night Hockey Show. That's right, broadcasting live from our meeting at the Buffalo Connection in the Westwood Shopping Center on W. Pensacola is the Monday Night Hockey Show!

All the Fin-Atics are encouraged to join us for this meeting. You won't want to miss it. No fighting the phones lines that night - be sure to be there and have your list of questions handy!

Note: All general meetings will be held at the Buffalo Connection for the rest of the season.

Point of Note:

"Opposing player I've come to really respect - Tallahassee's Cal Ingraham (the little guy.) He takes a pounding, but plays good two way hockey and isn't afraid to stick his nose in with the big guys."

This quote is courtesy of Jonathan's Journal in Mobile Mysticks' December newsletter. Thought you might like to know. It good to see that hockey fans around the league recognize and honor good players, regardless of team.

Tallahassee Tiger Sharks and Fin-Atics Welcome Back Mark Deazley

The Fin-Atics were able to welcome back Mark Deazley for the first time this season at the annual Christmas party. Last year Mark racked up 29 goals, 36 assists and 141 penalty minutes with the Tiger Sharks. Its a sure I bet that we'll being seeing some action on the ice again this season.

Welcome back Mark!
