Kudos to the Road Trip Head Honcho February, 1997

Just a word of greatly deserved praise to Lori Parrish, and of course, The Mill for a well-planned, fun-packed road trip to Mississippi on February 8th. We had fabulous food from The Mill, and a very comfortable bus ride complete with exciting and funny movies.

The accommodations at the Grand Casino in Gulf Port were excellent and a few of us were even winners at the slots! The show and pep rally were a blast and everyone had a super time (especially the group at the back of our bus on the way home, who laughed nonstop for about 5 hours.) The best part, however, was the solid front we presented to the Mississippi Sea Wolves fans at the game on Saturday night. We were loud but loyal, letting our guys know we were behind them 100%. Let's go on another trip when our piggy banks are healthy again!

For those of you who have not been to the Grand Casino, you need to go, even if you don't gamble.

Bobby Messer (our contact and hotel liaison) took great care of us and the buffet that was included in the room rate was incredible! I don't know how many people were aware of this, but Banana's Buffet technically closed at 11:00 pm. What time did our buses hit the hotel after the game...10:50 pm. Bobby had notified the hotel staff earlier that afternoon that approximately 100 people from our group would be arriving late. Did we find cold food, 1/2 or 3/4 empty trays, portions of the buffet packed up? Nope. The staff had completely restocked every item available before our arrival and continued to cook additional food while the Fin-Atics ate. I think the entire hotel, and especially the wait staff, deserve a special thanks.

The best part about this trip is we get to do it again next season and... next year we get another team in 'Nawlins. Can we say rooaadtttrrriiiippppp?!?
