My Interview with Jim Paradise
December, 1996
Tallahassee Tiger Sharks

Hockey Stick -- Don't get CHECKED!

By: Will Harris

Jim Paradise

Q: What inspired you to play hockey?

A: One of my cousins when I was young. There was always a lot of ice back home. I was always watching him and when I was four I started putting on skates so I guess I just took after my cousin.

Q: If you were drafted by the NHL tomorrow, what team would you like to play for?

A: I would like to play for Colorado Avalanche because I went to college in Colorado and I have family there. And, my father has a business there. Also, they won last year.

Q: What has been the greatest moment in your hockey career?

A: Its hard to say. I've played for so many different teams in so many different places. I guess the best moment for me would be when I was in college. We ended up winning the WCHA Championship. That would be the best moment for me.

Q: How many brothers and sisters do you have?

A: I have one younger sister.

Q: Has she ever played hockey?

A: No, she use to figure skate. And we had a pond back home that we used to skate on and she would play around with us.

Q: What are your hobbies?

A: I like to golf. That's why I like it in Florida, because its warm even though its too cold now. I water ski and I fish a little bit, but I mainly like to water ski.
