Shawn Batten joined the cast of "Sunset Beach" as the scandal-plagued intern Sara Cummings and younger sister of Meg in May 1998. Batten was born in New Foundland, Canada and raised in Ramsey, New Jersey.

She began acting at the age of 16 and landed her first big break in a Bounce fabric softener commercial. Inspired by her success, Batten began studying acting at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in Manhattan. Batten's film credits include "Quiz Show," "Delinquent," "One Dog Day" and "Boom."

Her television credits include playing Brittany on MTV's comedy series "Apartment 2F" as well as Officer Tammy Hanson on "Beverly Hills 90210" and assorted print work and television commercials including Dr. Pepper, AquaFresh, Pizza Hut, Entenmanns, Tylenol Sinus.

Batten currently resides in Los Angelas with her husband.
