FairFight Debate

Recently, a younger man who appears to be a politically-incorrect (as God defines: "incorrect") adversary for anti-GOP Satan asked me to go over to his house on a weekend night to debate some democrat atheists, promising that he would moderate the "discussion" (of probable heated argumentation).

At first glance, it would appear that that was an opportunity to witness to the deviant. "Float like a butterfly and sting like a bee," while expecting God to assist me with a few miracles:

1Ti 6:12 Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

I asked if they were going to bring guns.

He responded that many had 'permit-to-carry' licenses. And wine would be available there for drinks.

Under duress of the moment, I indicated that I would consider it, being that I:

1Pe 1:5 ....who by God's power are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Afterward though, when contemplating by myself in bed that night about his offer, I made up my mind that the situation might not be in my best interests concerning my safety. He might then infer or insinuate that I, questioning his pseudo-innocent motives, was a "chicken" or "scardy-cat wimp." (meow) But who, when it comes right down to it, are the non-communicative cowards?:

Pr 22:3 A prudent man sees danger and hides himself; but the simple go on, and suffer for it.
Pr 27:12 A prudent man sees danger and hides himself; but the simple go on, and suffer for it.

They might ridicule me by accusing me of blinding myself to the so-called "facts of reality" and hiding my head in the sand. But:

Isa 42:19 Who is blind but my servant, or deaf as my messenger whom I send? Who is blind as my dedicated one, or blind as the servant of the LORD?

Heb 10:38 but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him."
Heb 10:39 But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and keep their souls.
Heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please him. For whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Besides, it is advantagious for me to stay alive without having to try to subtly or blatantly make some quick emergency cellphone call to 911:

Ec 9:4 ....he who is joined with all the living has hope, for a living dog is better than a dead lion.

Moreover, trying to talk diehard atheists out of their deliberate godless delusion would probably be as successfull as telling non-sensored toilets to flush themselves.

There must be other ways to - as congenially as possible - convey correction to the conniving who concoct corruption:

1Pe 5:9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experience of suffering is required of your brotherhood throughout the world.
1Jo 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith
Jude 1:3 Beloved, being very eager to write to you of our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

It did get me thinking about the subject of debates.

Many things could be said about debating, and particularly the Ultimate Debate which has been raging ever since humans sinned in the Garden of Eden. Evil has, from then on, debated good. Irrationality has debated sanity. Ugliness has debated beauty, sinners have debated the righteous, and bad guys have debated good guys.

In any fair debate, there must be at least nine factors to consider:

(1) Who is the moderator (consider Google, Yahoo, Tripod, Lycos, Geocities, newsforum.com ), and is he completely fair and impartial?
(2) Who is the sargeant-at-arms umpire or law officer capable of and willing to enforce the moderator's regulations and decisions, and keep order?
(3) Do all debators have efficient and timely access to discourse without being bypassed or ignored (over the internet)?
(4) Can any or all of the debators remain anonymous for personal security (on the Web)?
(5) Will there be only one person speaking at a time without being interrupted by anyone else, except the moderator or law officer if necessary (using internet chat and news forums)?
(6) Will any loaded or multipart questions be asked which cannot be sensibly answered with a simple yes or no?
(7) Will all essay answers be as concise and brief as possible, and not divert off on tangents?
(8) Can any or all of the debators exit the situation temporarily or permanently at any time for any reason (while surfing the web)?
(9) Are all debators free to use any part of The HOLY BIBLE during the debate without censorship, suppression, and ridicule (on the internet)?
(10) How long will the debate last, and when exactly will it end (using the Web)?
(11) Is the debate (on the internet) inexpensive enough to economically participate in?
(12) After the debate (on the internet), will all debators depart to their homes without harassment, assault, and injury and in their own non-vandalized vehicles?

Such parameters are vital for robust and productive debating, and if any one of the above is missing, there can be lamentable at least, and devastating at worst, consequences.

The Ultimate Moderator, Umpire, and Law-Enforcement Officer is - of course - Almighty God in the Trinitarian Persons of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. Next in line would be non-intrusive United-States-Government internet regulators, non-intrusive Internet Service Providers and the non-intrusive DSL or Broadband internet-signal-transfer phone companies.

Some might initially presume that the Lord is not to be considered "fair and impartial," being that He is the Author of Divinely-Inspired Holy Scripture which obviously contains The Absolute Standard of Morality, Decency, Righteousness, and Goodness. But:

Job 34:19 ....[God] shows no partiality to princes, nor regards the rich more than the poor, for they are all the work of His hands?
Lu 20:21 They asked him, "Teacher, we know that you speak and teach rightly, and show no partiality, but truly teach the way of God.
Ac 10:34 And Peter opened his mouth and said: "Truly I perceive that God shows no partiality,
Ro 2:11 For God shows no partiality.
Ga 2:6 And from those who were reputed to be something (what they were makes no difference to me; God shows no partiality) --those, I say, who were of repute added nothing to me;
Eph 6:9 Masters, do the same to them, and forbear threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him.
Col 3:25 For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.
Jas 2:1 My brethren, show no partiality as you hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory.

Consider, however, the benign nature of the Creator. Though He has established and set immovable and non-alterable entites and natural phenomena of the environment as the chessboard or game board for the debate, the players and debators frequently make their moves without His Acts-of-God interference. Hence, good people are allowed to speak and do good, while evil people are allow to speak and do wickedly......all while God (at least for the time being) does nothing for or against either group. Should the self-appointed miscall that "injustice?":

Pr 16:8 Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues with injustice.
Pr 22:8 He who sows injustice will reap calamity, and the rod of his fury will fail.
Jer 22:13 "Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his upper rooms by injustice; who makes his neighbor serve him for nothing, and does not give him his wages;

As seeds and saplings do not grow into huge trees overnite, nor all ice on the lake melts the next morning during early spring, so God takes His own sweet time to accomplish reward and retribution:

Ps 37:7 Be still before the LORD, and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over him who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!
Ps 37:9 For the wicked shall be cut off; but those who wait for the LORD shall possess the land.
Ps 37:34 Wait for the LORD, and keep to his way, and he will exalt you to possess the land; you will look on the destruction of the wicked.
Isa 30:18 Therefore the LORD waits to be gracious to you; therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.
Isa 40:31 ....but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
La 3:26 It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.
Ho 12:6 "So you, by the help of your God, return, hold fast to love and justice, and wait continually for your God."
Hab 2:3 For still the vision awaits its time; it hastens to the end--it will not lie. If it seem slow, wait for it; it will surely come, it will not delay.
Hab 3:16 I hear, and my body trembles, my lips quiver at the sound; rottenness enters into my bones, my steps totter beneath me. I will quietly wait for the day of trouble to come upon people who invade us.
Zep 3:8 "Therefore wait for me," says the LORD, "for the day when I arise as a witness. For my decision is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, to pour out upon them my indignation, all the heat of my anger; for in the fire of my jealous wrath all the earth shall be consumed.

Some might object to the premise of impartiality, stating that God gives advantages to the good and not the bad, at least eventually. But to a large extent, anything considered retribution or punishment happening to the wicked is a result of the wicked inflicting misfortune, accident, disability, and injury on himself by himself....(while of course operating within and against the parameters of nature which the benign and immutable Creator God has established and continues to maintain as the human global and universal operating environment).

Now, in the case of genuine Biblical Christians debating arrogant and presumptive atheists, rebellious and defiant homogays (i.e. homoeffeminate) and homosodomites, cultic heretics, and political subversives, Scripture defines such as fools:

Ps 10:4 In the pride of his countenance the wicked does not seek him; all his thoughts are, "There is no God."
Ps 14:1 To the choirmaster. Of David. The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none that does good.
Ps 53:1 To the choirmaster: according to Mahalath. A Maskil of David. The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, doing abominable iniquity; there is none that does good.

Instead, there obviously is a God:

Isa 44:6 Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: "I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god.
Isa 45:5 I am the LORD, and there is no other, besides me there is no God; I gird you, though you do not know me,

Not only that, but even a Redeemer is spoken of by Old-Testament patriarchs who openly and humbly admitted that they did not boastfully save themselves, but rather were saved by the Lord and Redeemer:

Job 19:25 For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at last he will stand upon the earth;
Ps 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
Ps 78:35 They remembered that God was their rock, the Most High God their redeemer.
Pr 23:11 for their Redeemer is strong; he will plead their cause against you.

Isa 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called "Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

Isa 41:14 Fear not, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel! I will help you, says the LORD; your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
Isa 43:14 Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "For your sake I will send to Babylon and break down all the bars, and the shouting of the Chaldeans will be turned to lamentations.
Isa 44:6 Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: "I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god.
Isa 44:24 Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, who formed you from the womb: "I am the LORD, who made all things, who stretched out the heavens alone, who spread out the earth--Who was with me?--
Isa 47:4 Our Redeemer--the LORD of hosts is his name--is the Holy One of Israel.
Isa 48:17 Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go.
Isa 49:7 Thus says the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel and his Holy One, to one deeply despised, abhorred by the nations, the servant of rulers: "Kings shall see and arise; princes, and they shall prostrate themselves; because of the LORD, who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you."
Isa 54:5 For your Maker is your husband, the LORD of hosts is his name; and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, the God of the whole earth he is called.
Isa 54:8 In overflowing wrath for a moment I hid my face from you, but with everlasting love I will have compassion on you, says the LORD, your Redeemer.
Isa 59:20 "And he will come to Zion as Redeemer, to those in Jacob who turn from transgression, says the LORD.
Isa 63:16 For thou art our Father, though Abraham does not know us and Israel does not acknowledge us; thou, O LORD, art our Father, our Redeemer from of old is thy name.
Jer 50:34 Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name. He will surely plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth, but unrest to the inhabitants of Babylon.
Mt 22:44 'The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, till I put thy enemies under thy feet'
Mr 12:36 David himself, inspired by the Holy Spirit, declared, 'The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, till I put thy enemies under thy feet.'
Ac 2:34 For David did not ascend into the heavens; but he himself says, 'The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand,

Not until the New Testament is that Redeemer and Savior's name revealed as Jesus Christ:

2Sa 22:3 my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my Savior; thou savest me from violence.
Ps 17:7 Wondrously show thy steadfast love, O Savior of those who seek refuge from their adversaries at thy right hand.
Ps 106:21 They forgot God, their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt,
Isa 19:20 It will be a sign and a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt; when they cry to the LORD because of oppressors he will send them a Savior, and will defend and deliver them.
Isa 43:3 For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I give Egypt as your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in exchange for you.
Isa 43:11 I, I am the LORD, and besides me there is no Savior.
Isa 45:15 Truly, thou art a God who hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Savior.
Isa 45:21 Declare and present your case; let them take counsel together! Who told this long ago? Who declared it of old? Was it not I, the LORD? And there is no other god besides me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none besides me.
Jer 14:8 O thou hope of Israel, their Savior in time of trouble, why should You be like a stranger in the land, like a wayfarer who turns aside to tarry for a night?
Ho 13:4 I am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt; you know no God but me, and besides me there is no Savior.
Lu 1:47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
Lu 2:11 for to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Joh 4:42 They said to the woman, "It is no longer because of your words that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world."
Ac 5:31 God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.
Ac 13:23 Of this man's posterity God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, as he promised.
Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior.
Php 3:20 But our commonwealth is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
1Ti 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope,
1Ti 2:3 This is good, and it is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
1Ti 4:10 For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.
Tit 1:3 and at the proper time manifested in his word through the preaching with which I have been entrusted by command of God our Savior;
Tit 1:4 To Titus, my true child in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.
Tit 2:10 nor to pilfer, but to show entire and true fidelity, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.
Tit 2:13 awaiting our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,

Am I being too harsh, cruel, intolerant, narrow-minded, bigoted, and discriminatory in calling atheists and activist queers the FOOLS they in fact are?:

Tit 1:13 This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,

During debate, if some of those who debate are godless and antichrist-like fools, the effect is frustrating, fruitless, pointless, and useless, and to get anywhere we would all have to try and start from Sqaure One again:

Heb 6:1 Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,

which advancement is impossible with those described as:

2Ti 3:8 As Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of corrupt mind and counterfeit faith;

In view of such counterproductive time-wasting:

Ps 39:8 Deliver me from all my transgressions. Make me not the scorn of the fool!
Ps 49:10 Yea, he shall see that even the wise die, the fool and the stupid alike must perish and leave their wealth to others.
Ps 53:1 To the choirmaster: according to Mahalath. A Maskil of David. The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, doing abominable iniquity; there is none that does good.
Pr 10:8 The wise of heart will heed commandments, but a prating fool will come to ruin.
Pr 10:14 Wise men lay up knowledge, but the babbling of a fool brings ruin near.
Pr 10:18 He who conceals hatred has lying lips, and he who utters slander is a fool.
Pr 10:23 It is like sport to a fool to do wrong, but wise conduct is pleasure to a man of understanding.
Pr 11:29 He who troubles his household will inherit wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise.
Pr 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.
Pr 12:16 The vexation of a fool is known at once, but the prudent man ignores an insult.
Pr 13:16 In everything a prudent man acts with knowledge, but a fool flaunts his folly.
Pr 14:3 The talk of a fool is a rod for his back, but the lips of the wise will preserve them.
Pr 14:7 Leave the presence of a fool, for there you do not meet words of knowledge.
Pr 14:16 A wise man is cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool throws off restraint and is careless.
Pr 17:7 Fine speech is not becoming to a fool; still less is false speech to a prince.
Pr 17:10 A rebuke goes deeper into a man of understanding than a hundred blows into a fool
Pr 17:12 Let a man meet a she-bear robbed of her cubs, rather than a fool in his folly.
Pr 17:16 Why should a fool have a price in his hand to buy wisdom, when he has no mind?
Pr 17:24 A man of understanding sets his face toward wisdom, but the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth.
Pr 17:28 Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.
Pr 18:2 A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.
Pr 18:6 A fool's lips bring strife, and his mouth invites a flogging.

If the wise are insulted and chided by fools attempting to embarrass, humiliate, and discredit them, blattering out that "that's only YOUR opinion" (as if that made it wrong or incorrect) and/or "not respecting their opinion," remind them:

2Ti 1:13 Follow the pattern of the sound words which you have heard from ME, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus;

Or if they belittle Christian beliefs as myths, legends, fairy-tales, superstitions, direct them to:

1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by giving heed to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,

Doing so, will they misrepresent and revile the wise as being divisive, non-cooperative, seeking division and disunity? Remind them:

1Ti 4:6 If you put these instructions before the brethren, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the words of the faith and of the good doctrine which you have followed.
1Ti 4:12 Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

Actually, they are the ones gullibly being deceived by demonic propaganda, misrepresentation, and dishonest brainwashing. So tell them to not:

1Ti 1:4 .....occupy themselves with myths and endless genealogies which promote speculations rather than the divine training that is in faith;

Not all men have faith:

2Th 3:2 and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men; for not all have faith.

And not all who call themselves "Jews" and "Christians" are such:

Ro 9:6 But it is not as though the word of God had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel,
Ro 9:7 and not all are children of Abraham because they are his descendants; but "Through Isaac shall your descendants be named."
Re 2:9 "'I know your tribulation and your poverty (but you are rich) and the slander of those who say that they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.
Re 3:9 Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie--behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and learn that I have loved you.

People judgmentally trying to self-righteously excuse themselves must take care to not judge the Creator by the human creatures He has allowed to exhibit errancy. It is NOT the Lord's fault when some of his wayward and disobedient humans sinfully go off, act stupid, and cause misery and pain. Jesus is NOT to be blamed for that!

Keep in mind, however, that there ARE some who actually do believe in and obey Christ as much as they humanly can do in view of the wicked surrounding duress they are incessantly and relentless besieged under:

Re 2:19 "'I know your works, your love and faith and service and patient endurance, and that your latter works exceed the first.
Re 14:12 Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

There ARE some in the past who honestly claim: "God spoke to me!" - and are NOT lying, nor to be reviled nor slandered as being dishonest lunatics nor nutcase kooks. God actually DID speak to them, in various ways and at various times under sundry circumstances! The proverbial "proof is in the pudding" - and by-their-fruit-you-will-know-them Christianity and pre-Christian Hebrew Judaism under the Lord's providential and seemingly "circumstantial" coincidences has lasted and thrived for 2000 years and more, thank you.......despite the damndest attacks and hypocritically dishonest misrepresentations by accursed atheists, agnostics, homoperverts, cultic heretics, and so on.

The bottom line is extreme life-protecting caution against discoursing in a dangerous setting against virulently atheist and other murderminded fools:

Ec 12:12 My son, beware of anything beyond these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
Jer 9:4 Let every one beware of his neighbor, and put no trust in any brother; for every brother is a supplanter, and every neighbor goes about as a slanderer.
Mt 7:15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Mt 10:17 Beware of men; for they will deliver you up to councils, and flog you in their synagogues,
Mt 16:6 Jesus said to them, "Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees."
Mt 16:11 (paraphrase) How is it that you fail to perceive that I did not speak about [eucharistic] "bread?" Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees."
Mt 16:12 (paraphrase) Then they understood that he did not tell them to beware of the leaven of [eat-My-flesh] bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Mr 8:15 And he cautioned them, saying, "Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod."
Mr 12:38 And in his teaching he said, "Beware of the scribes, who like to go about in long robes, and to have salutations in the market places
Lu 12:1 (paraphrase) In the meantime, when so many thousands of the multitude had gathered together that they trod upon one another, he began to say to his disciples first, "Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which "leaven" is hypocrisy.
Lu 12:15 And he said to them, "Take heed, and beware of all covetousness; for a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."
Lu 20:46 "Beware of the scribes, who like to go about in long robes, and love salutations in the market places and the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at feasts,
2Ti 4:15 Beware of him yourself, for he strongly opposed our message.
