I would guess that most of you readers of this webpage have encountered, and been confronted with, presupposition from goofball-immentality religious deviates spewing out the assertion that: "God welcomes, forgives, and accepts you unconditionally the way you are."

Try (if you are able) squeezing through the gate to the White House without any clothes on to support that presumption. How about barging into your neighbor's house, bathroom, and shower stall while the man's wife is bathing? Or entering a police station or military checkpoint while pointing a double-barrelled loaded shotgun at the cop receptionist or soldier checking security identification while shouting obscenities at him?

Consider the Matthew chapter 22 case of polite treatment given to the following speechless man:

8 Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding is ready, but those invited were not worthy.
9 Go therefore to the thoroughfares, and invite to the marriage feast as many as you find.'
10 And those servants went out into the streets and gathered all whom they found, both bad and good; so the wedding hall was filled with guests.
11 "But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who had no wedding garment;
12 and he said to him, 'Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?' And he was speechless.
13 Then the king said to the attendants, 'Bind him hand and foot, and cast him into the outer darkness; there men will weep and gnash their teeth.'
14 For many are called, but few are chosen."

Had the king unconditionally accepted the speechless non-garmented man as he was, that man would have continued to have been unconditionally accepted. Oh, there's more to it? REALLY?

Of course, Satan's asinine blasphemously-misapplying-Scripture-snippets spokesmen and especially spokeswomen would be quick to counter with:

1Sa 16:7 .......the LORD sees not as man sees; man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart."

Dream on, damnable bungholes. Your despicable hallucinogenic visions are refuted:

Ro 14:13 Then let us no more pass judgment on one another, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.
1Co 8:9 Only take care lest this liberty of yours somehow become a stumbling block to the weak.

An obvious majority of hellbound, Scripture-misquoting, Bible-verse-misapplying non-Jew gentiles do not:

Mt 7:13 "Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many"

.....while authentic enraptured saints are ecstatically thrilled with the presence of God, though:

Mt 8:12 .......the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness; there men will weep and gnash their teeth."
Mt 22:13 Then the king said to the attendants, 'Bind him hand and foot, and cast him into the outer darkness; there men will weep and gnash their teeth.'
Mt 25:30 And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness; there men will weep and gnash their teeth.'
Lu 16:23 and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes, and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus in his bosom.
Lu 16:28 for I have five brothers, so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.'
2Th 1:9 "They shall suffer the punishment of eternal destruction and exclusion from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might....."
Re 14:10 he also shall drink the wine of God's wrath, poured unmixed into the cup of his anger, and he shall be tormented with fire and sulphur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
Re 14:11 And the smoke of their torment goes up for ever and ever; and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name."
Re 20:10 and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulphur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Such scenario as described above also pertains to the majority of jews:

Ro 9:6 But it is not as though the word of God had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel,
Ro 9:7 and not all are children of Abraham because they are his descendants; but "Through Isaac shall your descendants be named."
Ro 10:16 But [not all jews have] obeyed the gospel; for Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?"

It should be clear that God in Christ, by the once-for-all and one-time sacrifice of the Lord Himself on a cross has atoned for our sins and therefore saved us.......not vice-versa with or without us adding to nor contributing to that atonement of His ALONE by our own partial self-accomplishment with our own eucharistic or extra-eucharistic supportive compliance, associative human effort, our faith apart from our works, our [good or bad] works - not faith alone, or even our own belief in His sacrificial work. Of course, our cooperative and professing response is inevitably involved regarding what He alone has done for us, and not us for Him by ANY sacrifice we offer Him!

IS "the law" - referred to in the New Testament - merely "Jewish" law? Should the word "jewish" be placed in front of every instance of the word "law" therein?

NO, for two reasons.

First, "jewish" law might mistakenly be misthought of as containing all sorts of weird legalistic nitpicky talmudic and other rules and regulations concocted by sidetracking rabbis and their judaizing wayward ilk. Special sectarian or cultic names might be misconstrued as mandatory mantras or judaic buzzwords to replace or avoid encountering what instead is truly vital, which off-on-a-tangent diversion is described with such Scripture as Mark chapter 7:

6 And He said to them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, 'This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me;
7 in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.'
8 You leave the commandment of God, and hold fast the tradition of men."
9 And he said to them, "You have a "fine" way of rejecting the commandment of God, in order to keep your tradition!
10 For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother'; and, 'He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him surely die';
11 but you say, 'If a man tells his father or his mother, What you would have gained from me is Corban' (that is, given to God)--
12 then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother,
13 thus making void the word of God through your tradition which you hand on. And many such things you do."

Second, God's law does not consist of merely a Jewish Source, but an above-racial-preference/beyond-racial-identification origin and applicability to both Jews and non-Jews, as revealed in Romans chapter 2:

6 For he will render to every man according to his works:
7 to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life;
8 but for those who are factious and do not obey the truth, but obey wickedness, there will be wrath and fury.
9 There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek,
10 but glory and honor and peace for every one who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek.
11 For God shows no partiality.
12 All who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.
13 For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified.
14 When Gentiles who have not the law do by nature what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law.

Is genuine "jewishness" proved by speaking Yiddish, uttering "Oy geh-VALT" or "HOOTS-puh" or "schmooze?" Sporting a 10-candled menorah memorializing the nowhere-found-in-the-Bible superstitious myth of an endless-oil-supplied burning candle in the never-never imaginary land of pseudo-history....instead of an orthodox 7-candled menorah symbolizing the Seven Spirits of God:

Re 1:4 John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne,
Re 3:1 "And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: 'The words of him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. "'I know your works; you have the name of being alive, and you are dead.
Re 4:5 From the throne issue flashes of lightning, and voices and peals of thunder, and before the throne burn seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God;

How about "jewishness" presumed by having a hooked nose, beady brown eyes, wearing a skull-cap beanie or a black, amish-like, old-fashioned-style orthodox men's hat, swinging around hem-fringed tassels hanging down from all-black coat, eating matzo-ball soup, sipping Manischewitz wine, buying kosher beef, unscrolling a Torah, cantorizing in a synagogue, raising a Star-of-David Israeli flag, half-bowing repeatedly in front of The Wailing Wall, attending a Bar-Mitzvah, or publicizing a name with an -owitz or -stein ending?

And what makes a Catholic a bonafide Christian.....instead of a maryolatrous, purgatorial, eucharistically-self-justifying, noncanonical-apocrypha-espousing, pope-worshipping, cultic anglican or episcopalian or roman catholic? They have their sectarian denominational peculiarities also.

One true definition of being a REAL Jew is found by the many-Hebrew-names-mentioned Old-Testament-referenced geneological record of Jesus Christ in both Matthew chapter 1 of step-dad Joseph's lineage and Luke chapter 3 of Mary's blood-line lineage. Moreover:

Heb 7:14 For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, and in connection with that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.

While we're on the subject of true Jewishness relating to the Biblical record, creation plus preservation of Scripture was obviously made in the following languages:

Joh 19:20 Many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, and in Greek.
Ac 16:1 And he came also to Derbe and to Lystra. A disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer; but his father was a Greek.
Ac 16:3 Paul wanted Timothy to accompany him; and he took him and circumcised him because of the Jews that were in those places, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.
Ac 17:12 Many of them therefore believed, with not a few Greek women of high standing as well as men.
Ac 21:37 As Paul was about to be brought into the barracks, he said to the tribune, "May I say something to you?" And he said, "Do you know Greek?
Ro 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel: it is the power of God for salvation to every one who has faith, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
Ro 10:12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all and bestows his riches upon all who call upon him.
Ga 2:3 But even Titus, who was with me, was not compelled to be circumcised, though he was a Greek.
Ga 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Col 3:11 Here there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free man, but Christ is all, and in all.
Re 1:8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.
Re 9:11 They have as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek he is called Apollyon.
Re 21:6 And he said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the fountain of the water of life without payment.
Re 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end."

Those who insist on bringing up the possible inclusion of and/or feigned importance of Aramaic and thus diverting "off the beaten path" are indicative of the following:

1Ti 6:20 O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you. Avoid the godless chatter and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge,
2Ti 3:7 who will listen to anybody and can never arrive at a knowledge of the truth.

Along those lines, God does not welcome nor accept us unconditionally as we are. Rather, the Lord presents a proposition to us, initially consisting of identification of who He is, His Divine authority and God-our-Creator right to propose to us, and His request for our cooperative allegiance and obedience to Him, His Word, and will.....but finally including an either-or eternal-consequences ultimatum to us, with the everlasting outcome dependent upon our response to His invitation. This is true whether a primary [husband-like] Lutheran emphasis is made, with God coming to us.....or a secondary [wife-like] Baptist emphasis is made, with us being led to and ourselves accepting Christ as redemptive Savior and Lord, concordant with:

Jas 4:8 Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you men of double mind.

So is it true that - because the Bible was written by human authors - what the Bible should and does contain was decided simply by THE "Body" (i.e. the body) of Christ.....along with creedal interpretation of Scripture also concocted and connived by "the body of Christ" (i.e. "THE Church" - or, correctly put: "the church")? Where is Divine inspiration and Divine input in all of that humans-incepted invention? Has not GOD determined what the contents of the Bible should have been, are, and will continue to be? Is not His Holy Spirit of the Triune Godhead THE Executions-Capable Enforcer pertaining to that.....instead of frequently-change-their-minds, occasionally-want-something-different, suit-their-own-heresies, fallible and faltering humans?:

2Pe 1:20 First of all you must understand this, that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of one's own origin,
21 because no prophecy ever came by the impulse of man, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

It should be noted that any arrogant denial blattered out by a disbeliever is no proof against the validity and reality of anything contained in the Bible - however unusual or seemingly-impossible the phenomenon recorded in Holy Writ. Merely bellering out that miracles never happened is no proof that they either happened or did not happen. To a charge of "Prove it! Now!" by a doubting skeptic, a retort of: "YOU have five seconds to prove that you are breathing oxygen, that Pluto exists, that the color purple is not green, and that Genghis Khan ever urinated." Things take TIME to prove or to disprove, and such research is only intelligently and credibly done by carefully and slowly investigating evidences of one thing after another without being unduly pressured by quickly-compounded, rapidly-fired, multiple-issued attacks maliciously and closed-mindedly imposing divisively-nonreasonable impatient duress.
