From what I understand (and I could be somewhat mistaken), California's Proposition 8 was a 2008 election referendum requiring the legal definition of "marriage" to be "the union of one man and ONE woman."

The intent by many who supported it was to disallow the definition of "marriage" to include homosexual (i.e. same-gender) couples apparently desiring to commit lustful (not "loving") sodomy (i.e. unnatural sexual intercourse) against (not "with") each other.

The effect, however, was to be nonacceptably vague as to specifying what type of "union" should exist between a man and woman (e.g. such as business partnership, employer/employee, teacher/student, doctor/patient, and/or many others). Also, stating the singular "one woman" in Proposition 8 obviously prohibits patriarchal harem polygamy, clearly violating Biblical precedents in not only the Old but even the New Testaments of The HOLY BIBLE. Furthermore, the duration of whatever type of "union" in Proposition 8 is not adequately qualified.

Therefore, as presently worded, this webauthor could never support Proposition 8 nor anything like it....unless the precise semantics were changed.

Clearly, Scripture forbids any type of sodomy, and those who perpetrate same-gender sodomy are not even engaging in anything "civil" by any legitimate definition, particularly any "civil union." In contrast, the Bible encourages heterosexual unions of couples:

Gensis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth."

Gensis 9:1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.

Gensis 9:7 And you, be fruitful and multiply, bring forth abundantly on the earth and multiply in it."

That is THREE times the LORD commanded humans to conjugate and copulate so as to "multiply" on the Earth. Obviously, God requires us to perform as much heterosexual intercourse as possible....despite the nutcase wacko overpopulationists. However, He does insist that such fellatio-foreplay and/or genital-insertions-involved reproduction be done only when the human couples are permanently married with (but not necessarily "to") each other. [And in private, please.....for the sake of public modesty and decency].

Rather than mindlessly shock-mouthing the f--- word publicly as though it was some pseudo-sacred enshrined no-no fantasy to either mock or yearn for, actual and operational heterosexual intercourse is the non-changing and irrevocable Divine mandate for those so designated.

So, a much better wording of any Proposition 8 would instead be: "Marriage is the non-same-gender permanent sexual union of a man with woman."

Notice that the Lord throughout Scripture does not demand weddings, and such are not mentioned that much. Most weddings are too expensive, and really not necessary for multiple-marriage polygamous unions. Celebrations of newly-married heterosexuals need not be lavish money-depleting extravaganzas of newlywed pomp and show-off splendor.

Then there are pro-immodesty, pro-fornication, pro-adultery/affair-misminded, and pro-harlotry heretic media and religious hypocrites and accusators who insist on State registration and licensing of married couples.....necessitating at times and in certain cases common-law-concubinage permanent marriage unions (reviled by the immoral-yet-prudish heretics as "shacking up" even when the place of concubine residence is within an affluent-neighborhood mansion).

For the recently unemployed in our collapsing national economy and financial recession, heterosexual unions involving vocational partnerships of mutual employer/employee relationships are possible.....with the understanding of permanent marriage upon mutual hire.....whether the occupations involve teacher/student tutoring, gym and exercise workouts, maids and housekeepers, sperm and egg donors, physical therapy, therapeutic massage, gynecology and obstetrics, photographic modeling, erotic dance instruction and performance, whatever.
