In the past couple years, both in the Episcopal-Anglican and the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America), a divisive dissention has been occurring involving the partially-successful imposition of homosexual activists attempting to worm their way into the congregational and hierarchal fabric and structure of both denominations, aptly described with:

Jde 1:3 Beloved, being very eager to write to you of our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.
4 For admission has been secretly gained by some who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly persons who pervert the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
5 Now I desire to remind you, though you were once for all fully informed, that he who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.
6 And the angels that did not keep their own position but left their proper dwelling have been kept by him in eternal chains in the nether gloom until the judgment of the great day;
7 just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise acted immorally and indulged in unnatural lust, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.
8 Yet in like manner these men in their dreamings defile the flesh, reject authority, and revile the glorious ones.
10 But these men revile whatever they do not understand, and by those things that they know by instinct as irrational animals do, they are destroyed.

The main doctrine-of-demons irrationalization those homosexually-oriented and homosexuality-promoting perverts have used is irresponsible and nonwarranted misapplication and misuse of the loving and acceptant-of-penitent-sinners forgiving grace of God through Jesus Christ the Atonement.....twisting the Scriptures to abrogate and override:

Lev 18:22 You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.
Lev 20:13 If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death, their blood is upon them.
Rom 1:26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural,
Rom 1:27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in their own persons the due penalty for their error.
1Co 6:9 Do you not know that the nonrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate [Gr. malakoi], nor sodomites [Gr. arsenokoitai],
1Co 6:10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God.
Jde 1:7 .....just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise acted immorally and indulged in unnatural lust, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.

What should be the proper Christian response for penitent homosexuals who seek forgiveness away from previous homosexual intentions and actions? The grace of God and atonement of Christ richly and completely applies to such, with all the truly-erotic heterosexual benefits.

But what should be the correct Christian reaction against impenitent homosexuals who defiantly self-justify and continue their mental or physical homo-perversion? As follows:

Mrk 11:15 And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons;
Luk 19:45 And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold, 1Co 5:12 For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge?
1Co 5:13 God judges those outside. "Drive out the wicked person from among you."
Eph 5:5 Be sure of this, that no fornicator or impure man, or one who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for it is because of these things that the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
7 Therefore do not associate with them,
1Ti 5:20 As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear.
Tit 1:13 This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,

Such Scriptural directives should leave no question pertaining to proper response of ecclesiastical leadership and congregants of "the church," and that righteous and legitimate selective judgment is precisely applicable to the question of same-sex-union "blessings" plus the ordination and rostering of false-prophet homosexual clergy.

But, what exactly is "the church?" Should the "bride of Christ" be instead be regarded as the equal-authority-with-God "Bride of Christ" (note the capitalization!) and "the church" rather be considered as the equal-authority-with-Christ "Church?"

The word "church" can signify an organized IRS-registered 501(c)3 non-profit and tax-exempt legal entity owned and operated by a senior warden, junior warden, church board of elders or vestry in cooperation with offering-plates-contributing congregants - all of who build, own, and regulate sometimes large and impressive buildings not subject to property taxes.

And/or it can signify a spiritual assemblage of believers agreeing to congregate in a certain denominational format and practice, adhering to a certain holy-book translation.

A crucial thing to understand about either type of church is that the members thereof are fallible and imperfect (consider disobedient Moses who hit the water rock instead of simply speaking to it, Peter called "Satan" by Christ and who denied knowing of Jesus, and Paul who did what he did not want to do and persecuted the new church), and thus occasionally exhibit some degrees and kinds of non-Biblical doctrines, traditions and expressions. Thus, none of them can be completely and consistently trusted as to perfect orthodoxy - in stark contrast to our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God....as revealed and operational in His Word, The HOLY BIBLE.

However, being that The HOLY BIBLE was authored by human hands, do not every doctrine and tradition of church fathers, priests, bishops, pastors, seminary professors, and so on who comprise "the "church" have as much importance and validity as the recorded words of the Lord in the limited-contents HOLY BIBLE?

It is imperative to understand that ultimate authority for setting standards for all humanity, but especially for "the church," is: The Word.

In Greek: logos:

Jhn 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Jhn 1:2 He was in the beginning with God;
Jhn 1:3 all things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made.
Jhn 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world knew him not.

Moreover, the Word is seamlessly integrated into the Divine Trinity of "Father, Word, and Holy Spirit" (I John 5:7 in the KJV, KJ21, Wesley, but not RSV nor NASV, keeping in mind that new manuscripts are yet being discovered now and then, and Christ's charge above His crucified head on the cross was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin).

Neither the imperfect and sometimes even repressive, deviant, biased, and destructive doctrines of humanity, nor traditions of them, nor the sometimes faltering organized "church" (which - lamentably - is frequently so non-justifiably sacred and authoritative to certain catholics, episcopalians, anglicans, etc.) nor even the Bride-of-Christ spiritual church......has equal authority to THE Head of the church, THE perfect Bridegroom: Jesus Christ.

Again, heretics who place as much authority and importance on robed, liturgized, and ordained clergy in whatever ranks as Christ Himself, frequently misuse the twisted doctrine-of-demons irrationations of:

Mat 16:19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
Mat 18:18 Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Jhn 20:23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained."
1Jo 4:6 We are of God. Whoever knows God listens to us, and he who is not of God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

THE Ultimate Authority (Jesus Christ) is known spiritually (being that He is not now bodily present in physical appearance since His ascension, and has absolutely NO intention of appearing to anyone until He returns in glory and power in the clouds at Armageddon):

Mat 23:39 For I tell you, you will not see me again, until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'"
Mat 24:27 For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of man.
Mat 24:30 then will appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory;
Mat 26:64 Jesus said to him, "You have said so. But I tell you, hereafter you will see the Son of man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven."
Act 1:11 and said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven."

So we have "The Word" made flesh but now invisible, but the tangible manifestation of the invisible Christ, His Word, and His will pertaining to what we need to know is the written Word (i.e. The HOLY BIBLE) which was recorded in hard-copy print from Divinely-inspired verbal communication and Divinely-inspired infallible memory for the sake of autographically-faithful perpetual accuracy. Through writing (being that the identity of the Christ and His doctrinal and social laws are not inscribed with alphabet-lettered hieroglyphics on most naturally-occurring inanimate nor animate phenomena of nature out in the wild), the very real Word (i.e. Jesus) is perceivable physically by the readable canonical assortment of books and plethoria of sometimes rather bizarre and even vulgar or violent events described within Holy Writ. The desire and command to do such writing abounds according to Scripture itself:

Exo 34:1 The LORD said to Moses, "Cut two tables of stone like the first; and I will write upon the tables the words that were on the first tables, which you broke.
Exo 34:27 And the LORD said to Moses, "Write these words; in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel."
Deu 10:2 And I will write on the tables the words that were on the first tables which you broke, and you shall put them in the ark.'
Deu 11:20 And you shall write them upon the doorposts of your house and upon your gates,
Deu 27:8 And you shall write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly."
Neh 9:38 Because of all this we make a firm covenant and write it, and our princes, our Levites, and our priests set their seal to it.
Est 8:8 And you may write as you please with regard to the Jews, in the name of the king, and seal it with the king's ring; for an edict written in the name of the king and sealed with the king's ring cannot be revoked."
Isa 30:8 And now, go, write it before them on a tablet, and inscribe it in a book, that it may be for the time to come as a witness for ever.
Jer 30:2 "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel: Write in a book all the words that I have spoken to you.
Jer 36:28 "Take another scroll and write on it all the former words that were in the first scroll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah has burned.
Eze 43:11 And if they are ashamed of all that they have done, portray the temple, its arrangement, its exits and its entrances, and its whole form; and make known to them all its ordinances and all its laws; and write it down in their sight, so that they may observe and perform all its laws and all its ordinances.
Hab 2:2 And the LORD answered me: "Write the vision; make it plain upon tablets, so he may run who reads it.
Luk 1:3 it seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus,
Jhn 19:21 The chief priests of the Jews then said to Pilate, "Do not write, 'The King of the Jews,' but, 'This man said, I am King of the Jews.'"
Act 15:20 but should write to them to abstain from the pollutions of idols and from unchastity and from what is strangled and from blood.
Act 25:26 But I have nothing definite to write to my lord about him. Therefore I have brought him before you, and, especially before you, King Agrippa, that, after we have examined him, I may have something to write.
1Co 4:14 I do not write this to make you ashamed, but to admonish you as my beloved children.
1Co 16:21 I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand.
2Co 1:13 For we write you nothing but what you can read and understand; I hope you will understand fully,
2Co 13:10 I write this while I am away from you, in order that when I come I may not have to be severe in my use of the authority which the Lord has given me for building up and not for tearing down.
Php 3:1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you is not irksome to me, and is safe for you.
Col 4:18 I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand. Remember my fetters. Grace be with you.
1Th 4:9 But concerning love of the brethren you have no need to have any one write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another;
2Th 3:17 I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand. This is the mark in every letter of mine; it is the way I write.
Phm 1:19 I, Paul, write this with my own hand, I will repay it--to say nothing of your owing me even your own self.
Phm 1:21 Confident of your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even more than I say.
Heb 8:10 This is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
1Jo 5:13 I write this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.
Jude 1:3 Beloved, being very eager to write to you of our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.
Rev 1:11 saying, "Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea."
Rev 1:19 Now write what you see, what is and what is to take place hereafter.

The precisely-accurate Text of the entire Bible, remembering that:

Mat 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
1Pe 1:25 but the word of the Lord abides for ever."

consists primarily of the inerrant ben-Asher Masoretic Hebrew Old-Testament Text or Torah, Prophets, and Writing....along with the inerrant Scrivener-Trinitarian Greek New-Testament Text (contrasted with the corrupt-in-many-references Nestle, UBS, and Westcott-Hort texts)....and secondarily the best of the English-language KJV, KJ21, RSV, NASV, Wesley, etc. translations.

Though Moses, as Pharaoh's adopted royal son, was trained in Egyptian lettering, it is not unreasonable to assume that the finger of God which wrote The Ten Commandments (see Exodus 31:18 and Deuteronomy 9:10) wrote in Hebrew lettering - which was probably the original language previously spoken by everyone on Earth:

Gen 11:1 Now the whole earth had one language and few words.

Even Adam's first recorded speech in Genesis 2:20 and words in Genesis 2:23 were probably in Hebrew, and I think that one can safely assume that Adam might have asked God (in Hebrew) about some basic details of Creation, which probably were passed on by word of mouth to successive offspring and eventually to the writer Moses. By the time the ancient word-of-mouth stories got to Moses, his Hebrew hard copy got any needed corrections from the voice of God itself which spoke to him:

Num 7:89 And when Moses went into the tent of meeting to speak with the LORD, he heard the voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was upon the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim; and it spoke to him.

Meticulous Hebrew scribes took over from there.

Though it is true that humans (not God Himself except initially in the case of the Ten Commandments, nor apparently even our Lord Jesus) wrote and assembled together what is now considered "The Word of God" (i.e. The HOLY BIBLE), the non-apocryphal, non-caprecious and non-arbitary choice of what words the Holy Bible now consists of, and the remarkable preservation of such, was accomplished NOT by occasionally-errant human authors (however relatively conscientious and significantly noble they were) but rather by God Himself through His Feared but Revered Comforter, Executioner, and Copyright Enforcer: THE Holy Spirit:

2Ki 19:35 And that night the angel of the LORD went forth, and slew a hundred and eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians; and when men arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.
Jer 28:15 And Jeremiah the prophet said to the prophet Hananiah, "Listen, Hananiah, the LORD has not sent you, and you have made this people trust in a lie.
Jer 28:17 In that same year, in the seventh month, the prophet Hananiah died.
Jhn 14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
Act 5:3 But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the proceeds of the land?
Act 5:5 When Ananias heard these words, he fell down and died. And great fear came upon all who heard of it.
Heb 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Such a Bible, prohibiting free exercise of the religion of homosexuality, and such a Holy Spirit, who enforces that prohibiting, is what and who we have encountered and are under the eternally non-compromising Divine jurisdiction of - not the changeable and fickle whims of despicable deviates nondeniably destined for eternal torture in the fiery outer darkness.
