The concept of "legality" is an artificial human term that relates to and involves human government. It is in NO way synonymous with the concepts of righteousness and wickedness, of good and evil, of sacrifice and atonement, of sin and salvation. The idea and phenomena of sacrifice and atonement would not exist if it was not for the Creator's communicated relationships, disrupted-by-human-disobedience interference against relationships, and human-incarnation re-adjustment restoring relationships with His human creatures from the Garden of Eden on.

Having said that, it should be understood that every human being on earth is in some type of a governmental unit (e.g. familial, company, township, lodge, league, association, church, city, county, state, federal, etc.), and subject to interaction with the questionable, changeable, adjustable, and strangely-peculiar rules thereof.

The Roman governor Pilate had the following dialogue with Jesus Christ:

John 18:36 Jesus answered, "My kingship is not of this world; if my kingship were of this world, my servants would fight, that I might not be handed over to the Jews; but my kingship is not from the world."
John 18:37 Pilate said to him, "So you are a king?" Jesus answered, "You say that I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Every one who is of the truth hears my voice."
John 19:12 Upon this Pilate sought to release him, but the Jews cried out, "If you release this man, you are not Caesar's friend; every one who makes himself a king sets himself against Caesar."

Use of the word "king" of necessity involves government, whether theocratic or secular:

1Sa 13:13 And Samuel said to Saul, "You have done foolishly; you have not kept the commandment of the LORD your God, which he commanded you; for now the LORD would have established your kingdom over Israel for ever.
1Sa 13:14 But now your kingdom shall not continue; the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart; and the LORD has appointed him to be prince over his people, because you have not kept what the LORD commanded you."
1Sa 15:28 And Samuel said to him, "The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you.
1Sa 18:8 And Saul was very angry, and this saying displeased him; he said, "They have ascribed to David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed thousands; and what more can he have but the kingdom?"
1Sa 20:31 For as long as the son of Jesse lives upon the earth, neither you nor your kingdom shall be established. Therefore send and fetch him to me, for he shall surely die."
1Sa 24:20 And now, behold, I know that you shall surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established in your hand.
1Sa 28:17 The LORD has done to you as he spoke by me; for the LORD has torn the kingdom out of your hand, and given it to your neighbor, David.
2Sa 3:10 to transfer the kingdom from the house of Saul, and set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan to Beersheba."
2Sa 5:12 And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel.
2Sa 7:12 When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come forth from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.
2Sa 7:13 He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
1Ki 2:12 So Solomon sat upon the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was firmly established.
1Ki 2:15 He said, "You know that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel fully expected me to reign; however the kingdom has turned about and become my brother's, for it was his from the LORD.
1Ki 2:22 King Solomon answered his mother, "And why do you ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? Ask for him the kingdom also; for he is my elder brother, and on his side are Abiathar the priest and Joab the son of Zeruiah."
1Ki 2:46 Then the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he went out and struck him down, and he died. So the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon.
1Ki 11:11 Therefore the LORD said to Solomon, "Since this has been your mind and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you and will give it to your servant.
1Ki 11:13 However I will not tear away all the kingdom; but I will give one tribe to your son, for the sake of David my servant and for the sake of Jerusalem which I have chosen."
1Ki 11:31 And he said to Jeroboam, "Take for yourself ten pieces; for thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, 'Behold, I am about to tear the kingdom from the hand of Solomon, and will give you ten tribes
1Ki 11:34 Nevertheless I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand; but I will make him ruler all the days of his life, for the sake of David my servant whom I chose, who kept my commandments and my statutes;
1Ki 11:35 but I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand, and will give it to you, ten tribes.
1Ki 12:21 When Rehoboam came to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah, and the tribe of Benjamin, a hundred and eighty thousand chosen warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to restore the kingdom to Rehoboam the son of Solomon.
1Ki 12:26 And Jeroboam said in his heart, "Now the kingdom will turn back to the house of David;

As we can readily see, the kingdom (not "queendom") above was an integration of civil and temporal government rule ...engrained with Hebrew religion. Such a non-separation of "church and state" has frequently been the case ever since, whether in Britain or Italy, Sweden or Germany, Russia or the United States. Consider the present religious basis for radical fundamentalist islam of the arabs plus the Torah-referencing fanaticism and fervor of certain Zionistic israelis and their global Christian supporters. Such government-equated KING-doms intertwined with religion will not only not cease and go away, but become even more seamlessly fused together with the spiritual and religious:

Mt 19:12 For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to receive this, let him receive it."
Mt 19:23 And Jesus said to his disciples, "Truly, I say to you, it will be hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
Mt 19:24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
Mt 20:21 And he said to her, "What do you want?" She said to him, "Command that these two sons of mine may sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your kingdom."
Mt 21:31 Which of the two did the will of his father?" They said, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Truly, I say to you, the tax collectors and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
Mt 21:43 Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a nation producing the fruits of it."
Mt 22:2 "The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a marriage feast for his son,
Mt 23:13 "But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because you shut the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither enter yourselves, nor allow those who would enter to go in.
Mt 24:7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places:
Mt 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, as a testimony to all nations; and then the end will come.

Pharisees questioned Christ's [government-registered] "legality" pertaining to State-certified credentials, licenses, and permits:

Mt 21:23 And when he entered the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came up to him as he was teaching, and said, "By what authority are you doing these things, and who gave you this authority?"
Mt 21:24 Jesus answered them, "I also will ask you a question; and if you tell me the answer, then I also will tell you by what authority I do these things.
Mt 21:27 So they answered Jesus, "We do not know." And he said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.
Mr 11:28 and they said to him, "By what authority are you doing these things, or who gave you this authority to do them?"
Mr 11:29 Jesus said to them, "I will ask you a question; answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
Mr 11:33 So they answered Jesus, "We do not know." And Jesus said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things."
Lu 20:2 and said to him, "Tell us by what authority you do these things, or who it is that gave you this authority."
Lu 20:8 And Jesus said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things."

Government registration and certification sometimes involves discriminatory and exclusionary educational, medical, or other accreditation and credentialing:

2Co 3:1 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you, or from you?
2 You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on your hearts, to be known and read by all men;
3 and you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
5 Not that we are competent of ourselves to claim anything as coming from us; our competence is from God,
6 who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not in a written code but in the Spirit; for the written code kills, but the Spirit gives life.

And of course, government "legality" affects what people typically agree to exchange with each other for goods and services, involving "taxation" of what is commonly called "money:"

2Ch 24:6 So the king summoned Jehoiada the chief, and said to him, "Why have you not required the Levites to bring in from Judah and Jerusalem the tax levied by Moses, the servant of the LORD, on the congregation of Israel for the tent of testimony?"
2Ch 24:9 And proclamation was made throughout Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in for the LORD the tax that Moses the servant of God laid upon Israel in the wilderness.
Neh 5:4 And there were those who said, "We have borrowed money for the king's tax upon our fields and our vineyards.
Mt 5:46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
Mt 9:9 As Jesus passed on from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax office; and he said to him, "Follow me." And he rose and followed him.
Mt 9:10 And as he sat at table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Jesus and his disciples.
Mt 9:11 And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"
Mt 11:19 the Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Behold, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds."

Mt 17:24 When they came to Capernaum, the collectors of the half-shekel tax went up to Peter and said, "Does not your teacher pay the tax?"
Mt 17:25 He said, "Yes." And when he came home, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, "What do you think, Simon? From whom do kings of the earth take toll or tribute? From their sons or from others?"
Mt 17:26 And when he said, "From others," Jesus said to him, "Then the sons are free.
Mt 17:27 However, not to give offense to them, go to the sea and cast a hook, and take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth you will find a shekel; take that and give it to them for me and for yourself." [Holy Mackerel!]

Mt 18:17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
Mt 21:31 Which of the two did the will of his father?" They said, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Truly, I say to you, the tax collectors and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
Mt 21:32 For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the harlots believed him; and even when you saw it, you did not afterward repent and believe him.

Mt 22:15 Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how to entangle him in his talk.
16 And they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we know that you are true, and teach the way of God truthfully, and care for no man; for you do not regard the position of men.
17 Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?"
18 But Jesus, aware of their malice, said, "Why put me to the test, you hypocrites?
19 Show me the money for the tax." And they brought him a coin. And they brought him a coin.
20 And Jesus said to them, "Whose likeness and inscription is this?"
21 They said, "Caesar's." Then he said to them, "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
22 When they heard it, they marveled; and they left him and went away.

Mark 12:13 And they sent to him some of the Pharisees and some of the Herodians, to entrap him in his talk.
14 But Jesus, aware of their malice, said, "Why put me to the test, you hypocrites? And they came and said to him, "Teacher, we know that you are true, and care for no man; for you do not regard the position of men, but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?
15 Should we pay them, or should we not?" But knowing their hypocrisy, he said to them, "Why put me to the test? Bring me a coin, and let me look at it."
16 And they brought one. And he said to them, "Whose likeness and inscription is this?" They said to him, "Caesar's."
17 Jesus said to them, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." And they were amazed at him.

Lu 3:12 Tax collectors also came to be baptized, and said to him, "Teacher, what shall we do?"
Lu 5:27 After this he went out, and saw a tax collector, named Levi, sitting at the tax office; and he said to him, "Follow me."
Lu 5:29 And Levi made him a great feast in his house; and there was a large company of tax collectors and others sitting at table with them.
Lu 5:30 And the Pharisees and their scribes murmured against his disciples, saying, "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?"
Lu 7:29 (When they heard this all the people and the tax collectors justified God, having been baptized with the baptism of John;
Lu 7:34 The Son of man has come eating and drinking; and you say, 'Behold, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!'
Lu 15:1 Now the tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to hear him.
Lu 18:10 "Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
Lu 18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank thee that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
Lu 18:13 But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner!'
Lu 19:2 And there was a man named Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector, and rich.

Luke 20:20 So they watched him, and sent spies, who pretended to be sincere, that they might take hold of what he said, so as to deliver him up to the authority and jurisdiction of the governor.
21 They asked him, "Teacher, we know that you speak and teach rightly, and show no partiality, but truly teach the way of God.
22 Is it lawful for us to give tribute to Caesar, or not?"
23 But he perceived their craftiness, and said to them,
24 "Show me a coin. Whose likeness and inscription has it?" They said, "Caesar's."
25 He said to them, "Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
26 And they were not able in the presence of the people to catch him by what he said; but marveling at his answer they were silent.

[After Luke, the word "tax" is never again found in the New Testament].

Though the Lord chose a tax collector (Matthew, a.k.a. Levi) to be one of His Twelve Apostles, He had little regard for tax collectors....perhaps because they taxed people more than necessary, perhaps because the government used tax money for pork waste projects to devious individuals or groups, and/or perhaps because it was mandatory and forced, instead of voluntary.

Form 1040 book instructions from the IRS defines marriage (for tax-rate exemption and marital-status differentiation purposes) as: "the legal union of a man and a woman."

Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa, and Vermont homogay perverts who claim same-sex/same-gender "marriage" licenses are going to have a tough time dealing with THAT one.

But must all marriages be deemed "legal" ones? If so, why were not government marriage licenses issued before 1920? Before that time, did not individually-and-mutually-agreed-upon, family-tribe-acknowledged, community-honored marriages occur.....sometimes "officialized" (or, better yet: celebrated) with church ceremonies rather than mere presentation before a justice of the peace or captain of a ship?

The key word with the IRS definition is: "legal" marriage, which according to the government means: certified or registered marriage which the government records on their achives for various manipulative purposes. In relation to that, if a marriage is NOT certified nor licensed with a marriage certificate or marriage license, it is not that it is evil or wrong (because, remember, morality involvement and qualification involves only certain theocratic governments)....it's simply that the word "legal" is not used to define such. But, again, that does not make it anti-legal, illegal, or unlawful marriage. Such non-registered and non-certified marriages would apply to consentual live-in and "common-law" marriages, done by sovereignty-minded and other independents devoted to righteousness, to avoid being penalized by godlessly-secular anti-marriage and anti-living-together IRS and other "equal-rites" and "human-rites" State regulations, where perhaps well-to-do couples might joyfully and peacefully "shack up" not necessarily in a pathetic decrepid and abandoned log cabin but instead in a suburban mansion.

Those considering common-law marital union with each other would do well to evaluate and choose their prospective common-law spouse according to the following descending-order-of-importance criteria (which common-law spouses could wear a gold ring on the 4th finger of their left hands while each identifies themself as "Single" on IRS Form 1040):

1. Does she publicly acknowledge Jesus Christ as Redeemer, Savior, and Lord?
2. Will she allow my version of the Bible read to her for devotions without objection nor complaint, and attend the same denomination(s) church with me?
3. Will she avoid what Scripture considers adultery and sodomy if she marries me, publicly acknowledge me (though not necessarily to government) as mine when my spouse, and always regard me with overriding importance instead of any of her friends?
4. Does she desire and long for me (thus romantically "love" me ) enough to become my spouse?
5. Is she attractive enough (physically both facially and figure-wise, medically, educationally, financially, occupationally, racially and ethnically, reputationally and without criminal record, etc.) to become my spouse?
6. Is she consistently modest enough (especially during warm seasonal weather) regarding non-mopheaded decently-ponytailed or chignoned hairstyle, long-sleeved armwear, full-length legwear, and socks under shoes....so that she is not a publicly-harassing distraction, nuisance, and embarrassment to me?
7. Does she have acceptable hygiene, lack of cosmetic fingernail/facial makeup and perfume, absence of tattoos and piercings, and no other silly or noxious personality quirks, traits, or characteristics (like smoking) which would continuously and increasingly irritate me?

Other qualifications might be added to that list, but it is good for starters as it stands.
