Basic Technique
The first thing you should know is that you must always stretch well before attempting any stunt or even jump. Next, don't try to do complicated techniques as a beginner. Try simpler stunts and jumps before moving on to more advanced moves. For example, before you try to be a flyer, be a base. Likewise, before you try to do a toe-touch, do a tuck jump. Also, the key to great jumps is flexibility. Stretching daily will help make you more flexible.
The Prep
This is a very basic thing to learn, yet a very important element in a successful jump.
1) Stand up straight with feet together and arms in the table-top position..
2) Move your arms up to a high-v while pushing through your feet to stand on the balls of your feet.
3) Swing your arms in a circular motion, pushing through your feet, to give your jump height.
Stretching
1) To warm up, do a few of these
-high kicks
-tuck jumps
-heel stretches
2) Try to hold each of these stretches for at least 20 seconds
-stradles
-splits
-pike stretch
-lunge
There are other stretches that can help you warm up, but I prefer these
