The Spotted Hawkfish is a small fish with a big personality!  With an interesting color pattern, and a comical expression, this Hawkfish will become an instant favorite in any saltwater aquarium.  Hawkfish in general love to perch on anything, right-side up, sideways, and even upside down!  They readily accpet many kinds of food, and are very hardy.  Caution should be taken with small crestaceans, as Hawkfish might eat them.

My Spotted Hawkfish was kind of an unexpected suprise!  I originally wanted to get a Flame Hawkfish, but, realized that they were close to 45$, and decided on the less expensive (25$), yet equally cool Spotted Hawk.  I have been very surprised with this fish!  He is very confident, very curious, and very cool.  He has tons of personality, he loves to perch on rocks or corals and watch what's going on, or come up to the glass to observe what's going on in the human world.  Ironically, my Hawk has not even considered my Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp as a meal, or for that matter, any other invertebrate I keep.  Actually, my Hawk frequently is cleaned by the shrimp!  Amazingly, this is secretly what I'd hoped for from the beginning, and now I hope that by buying a smaller specimen in the first place, the Hawk will never think of the Shrimp as food, even when he grows bigger.
