To Take What I May II
Ah, what is this! Another sinister lull -- Have his, "sources" Vanished in folds -- Reality speaks Has his stalking -- Exhausted him so Is he cowering -- Within a corner Has he saturated -- His axiomatic diaper His well-known "Depends" A hazardous coward Afraid of the paint-gun I cannot afford! Is the co-victim's -- Burgeoning cookie jar Running out of appeal Is his victimization -- Of the voiceless Becoming unsatisfactory Could he ever recognize -- How craven he appears Attacking the impotent Hiding from the light Hiding from the camera Repeating his balderdash A broken record -- Jammed into hyper-drive An insane native -- Banging upon a broken drum Is this temporary -- Or permanent I think it's transitory If it were NOT -- For all the helpless For all the hapless For all the innocents This might become -- Entertaining Given no other -- Relief, Choices, Interventions, Nor justice! To take what -- I may From any tribulation If it were not -- For all the helpless For all the hapless For all the innocents I would live the cliché -- "Making lemon-aid," "From the lemon." Given no other -- Relief, Choices, Interventions, Nor justice! To take what -- I may.
