It is silent --
Everywhere
I check reflections
In the mirror
Through the mist
Observant for news
A revelations tidings
Something far
Or something near
For additional evil
Or wished whimsies
That are whimsical
Yet more normal
Than I dare admit
Than I can concede
Beneath this sky --
Over-caste and threatening
Is there anything else?
I thought it so --
Once or more
I thought it so --
Not long ago
Everything changes
Not always the way --
Of survival's requirement.
