"Bees in His Bonnet"
"Bees in his bonnet"
"Bees in his bonnet"
   To hold court
   With that static
Noise in his skull
Buzzing and stinging
And yammering, sniveling
   Over munchausens
Doesn't he wish --
   It were true!
"If wishes were horses" --
"Beggars would ride"
This beggar professed --
   He nearly rode
   He tried to ride
That blustering tide
Of false statements
   Slander, Coercion
   Domination, Control
And all that damnation
A nasty little beggar
On the beggar's strip
And to ponder --
   Simply to ponder
The rest of us --
   Who wish such things
In opposing difference
We waste our time --
   Wishing for beauty
That universal version
   Yearning for splendor
It always looks the same
Yet it dances away --
   Beyond our grasp
Alas, even in dreams --
   Beauty is greater
Than his sick wishes --
   For munchausens disease!
