And I'm laughing
An utter rarity
Over such words
Such expectations
Within these times
I can't contemplate
Wishful things
Whimsical luxuries
As sweet adorations
I can hardly --
Entertain possibilities
Bespeaking normality(s)
Of any magnitude
Significant or frivolous
Such as pursuits --
Meetings, visiting
Socializing, acceptances
Proposals for more
Romances lingering
Or mere friendships
Peaceful interludes
Emotional satisfaction
Mental stimulation
Social functions
Dinner parties, Lunches
Movies, Shopping
Brunch meetings, Clubs
Ah, the breakfast set
Phone conversations
Closeness, In-person
Sports, Hobbies, Sharing
Fun! Stimulating!
In depth's settings
Meaningful, Rewarding
It'd be wonderful --
To try it on
For the ultimate fit
Any part of it --
With so many people
A respite from isolation
Finding someone
Beyond spectacular
Enjoying relationships
At many levels
Alas, not today --
Perhaps tomorrow
A chance arrives
Entertaining possibilities!
