Concoction Nights
"Concoction Nights"

I'm suddenly wishing --
For concoction nights!
And solo cocktail parties
Fine bottles of wine
  Something imported
Quarts of sweet Vodka
Superlative Russian varieties
   A stash of Zoloft
Setraline! Setraline!
A handful of Trazadone
Brand-name junkies Desyrel
A level cup of Valium
A bottle of liquid Codeine
  Mounds of Morphine
A heap of Paroxetine
To sooth away worry
Lots of bitter Methocarbamols
  Quinine for absorption
Absorption or consumption
After a certain amount --
It becomes insignificant!
Organic grapefruit juice
A healthful afterthought
A dozen multi-vitamins
Mix in something common --
Over the counter --
    Sleep-aids
A tall spindle full --
    Of aspirin
A gallon of water --
In case I wake up!
Jewels for the pain
Jewels for the pain --
    P.T.S.D.

***Words of Wisdom from the Author:
If you as the reader feel compelled to engage in any activities such as those listed within, "Concoction Nights," please, I beg of you, contact a professional psychologist, psychiatrist, therapist, family physician, teacher, school social worker, counselor, pastor, crisis line, a reliable family member/friend, or hospital immediately. This poem was NOT written because I have ever engaged in, "Concoction Night," activities! Rather it was written because I completed a SPECIFIC class and due to my current circumstances (I.E. flesh eating bacteria) I felt: 1) Stressed out and others things that follow 2) In need of memorizing the terms I had recently learned! I must absolutely stress to all readers that engaging in real life activities such as those expressed within, "Concoction Nights," is a foolish maneuver. It is in no way attractive, cool, vogue, brave, bold or any other thing that could be considered beneficial. I can imagine that every reader has potential in their life that they must fully explore and put to good, moral and meaningful use long before they turn to any self-destructive alternative. I have personally NEVER engaged in activities even remotely resembling those expressed within this poem. Please get help right away if you are tempted to indulge in this kind or any kind of self-destructive activity. I was not kidding my many readers when I once said I write about everything, every detail, of my experiences! So do not take the contents of this poem as a cue or as an example! Readers in crisis may also call a service known as, Information and Referral," to get a list of phones numbers where they may go for help. In addition, many Emergency rooms are able to provide emergency psychiatric help for those in need. Please don't be ashamed to seek help if you are feeling self-destructive!

"Not Recommended"

Concoction nights!
Concoction nights!
  I have NEVER --
Indulged in such,
Concoction nights!
I have NEVER held --
Enough concoctions,
To indulge in those --
Concoction nights!
It's a passing fancy --
   Within the PTSD!
  Merely a fancy!
  Not a reality!
It is a fiction!
  Simply a tale!
Of something alluring --
    Within PTSD!
Of something commonly --
Desired within PTSD!
Something to soothe --
  That awful PTSD!
Substance abuse
   Is prevalent
   Within PTSD!
  I do not abuse --
    Pills nor fluids
Such as those listed!
And I learned all --
The drug names from,
A recent substance abuse
       CLASS!
With no intent to rollick --
In abuse of substances!
It is NOT recommended --
To indulge so in,
Foolish, Retarded,
Senseless, Needless ---
  Non-constructive --
    Concoction nights.
