Too Far
Too Far

She's driven too far
To race away now
As rain spatters
Upon the windshield
As wind batters
That metal frame
As hail threatens
To come in spades
As lightening dances
Upon the bridge
As thunder screams
In ghost's voices
As the dash clock tocks
Insults then invitations
As tress sway
In frenzied swirls
Wild flower petals flutter
As lost hearts might
Everything flying blurred
Entrances and departures
Across her vision
Within her mind
Entrances and departures
Moving too quickly
Coming too slowly
And the tantalizing
Taste of the storm
Pouring into windows
Just letting it all in
Le bouche-'a-bouche
Was it a mistake?
She's driven too far
To race away now.
