Update: July 19, 2006 (July 4th trip, Mt. Russell in Sierra Nevedas)
Christi and I spent a week in the Sierra Nevedas climbing around. Here are some photos of Mt. Russell trip except for the first photo, which in the Bishop Pass area more north of the Mt. Russell area.

Christi hiking through this beautiful area near Bishop Pass. I thought this photo captured the essence of being in the wilderness well.

Also in the Bishop Pass area -- Christi is next to the large boulder.

OK, over to the Mt. Russell area. We hiked in and camped at Upper Boy Scout Lake -- here it is in the photo with symmetric reflections.

The following morning, we hiked up higher to start the climbing up to Mt. Russell. Here's Christi with Upper Boy Scout Lake on the right.

At ~13,000 ft, here's Christi with Lone Pine Peak in the background. It's the peak with the slope on the left side of the photo.

Up higher at the Russell-Carillon pass at around 13,500ft or so ...view of Tulainyo Lake, the highest lake in the lower 48's.

Christi on the ridge to Mt. Russell with Mt. Carillon in the back. She's got energy! This ridge has huge drop-offs on both sides... like thousands of feet! Be careful air-ing your armpits!

Near the summit of Russell with Mt. Whitney in the back.

After the summit, we returned to camp at Upper Boy Scout Lake. Here I am gettin' some water. I'm also known as the "Mountain Serial Killer". Hehehe...
