SHE'S GONE
Written by: Erin M. Blair

She's gone.

Today, I lost the most important person in my entire life. The only woman who stood loyally by my side, through the good and the bad, for seven years.

Why?

She loved me.

Did I know she loved me when I lost her?

Yes.

Her clear, blue eyes told me that she loved me. As I watched her face light up with that rare smile, she knew that I loved her too.

Why did it took us so long to realize how much we love each other?

I don't know.

I know what you're thinking.

How did I lose her?

It wasn't because of the Cigarette Smoking Man and his Consortium friends' tactics. I could have handled that.

It wasn't because of an argument about Diana Fowley. I could have won her back. I could have handled that, too.

We weren't shut down. Both of us could have handled that easily.

She wasn't abducted. At least then, there would have been a chance for her to come back to me.

She's dead.

My Scully's dead.

I got the call today, and I'm still in shock. The news was horrifying. It's absolutely horrifying to know that she's dead.

I lost the woman who was going to be my wife. Last week, I had asked her to marry me. She said yes. I was so happy, but now, she's gone.

She was found beaten, raped, and killed by a car jacker who had dumped her body in a ditch. For some reason, her gun wasn't found at the scene. It's so unlike Scully to not have her gun with her. I don't know why her gun wasn't found; I think the car jacker took the gun away from her.

What makes matters worse, it was a killer that I helped put away during my second case with the Violent Crimes Unit. He was recently released from prison, and he found out who I loved.

Scully.

And he killed her.

He knows how much Scully's death devastated me. Not only did he kill her, he killed me as well.

I know that's a powerful statement to make, but it's true. When I found out what he did to her, I lost part of myself. I always told Scully how she makes me feel like a whole person.

Now that she's gone, I don't feel whole.

I lost my soulmate in this world. I can only hope that in my next life, I'll find her again.

Then I'll be complete.

END

Author's Notes:

This is the first story to come off my break from writing. I know that there might be some people who feel that I shouldn't have returned. I'm not writing for those people. I'm writing because I simply found the love to write again.

Feedback: Only nice, critical feedback. If you don't like this story, I don't want to read your flames. If you do flame me, I will laugh at your expense.
